I live in Townsville, and I used to hate it when I was a teenager because its too hot and not a lot to do, but now as a parent of young kids (my kids are all under 6) I like it a lot more it has a lot to offer for raising a family.
But its still too hot lol it was 35 degrees on Christmas Day sigh...

the only way you can enjoy this place is if you grew up here. other than that, for outsiders it must be quite the shit hole.most people who think its awesome probably havent traveled much.(not dissing anyone)
Townsville desperatly needs an upgrade. So why waist our fuel, money and resorsoures on the V8 fucking supercars??? VERY IRRESPONSIBLE MAYOR!! No wonder fuel is so high!
i do agree with you kostya2 except for the part about the sun. personally i think the sun,summer, anything to do with hot/warm weather is great.the breed of queenslanders your talking about are mainly the ones from brisbane,goldcoast and sunshine coast but that certain breed is starting to become noticable up north lately.
I live in a small NSW town called Parkes, the only thing we have is the bloody hill billy Elvis festival lol. ppl that wanna complain about this place know that there is more to life then shops, money. This place looks great compared to polluted Syd, i have nothing again Cairns it's nice there and so on and so forth. Who honestly cares about events. Get a life who ever thinks this place is crap just cause it dont have huge shops and things.

Townsville has a stable economy and friendlier people and you cant beat that. Sorry but your place does not rule all the way to live in.

Everyone should love Townsville. Townsville is amazing. Townsville is basically the opposite of Cairns, a city of smelly backpackers and stinking mudflats, dedicated to stealing your soul and your money. Also, Townsville has a beach.
