The UMG 2009 remaster of this album just blew mind in a very good way. I went to lastfm just hear TPIE, which was always my fav listening experience and was blown away by the remaster. So I listened to another and it went on till I listened to every song (except LIND - I despised it on my CD, so I didn't bother) and I gotta say. This remaster makes this album sound like an obvious #1 album for the Stones & possibly the best ever did.

Damn good remaster. Exponentially better.

Yeah, I could just see him and Mick singing duets from the "American Song Book". Honestly I don't think Rod has enough "bad boy" in him to have ever fitted in. His personality was too strong to remain with The Faces so he would have definitely clashed with Mick. Rod has still got it though. I just wish he'd burn that American Song Book and get back to Gasoline Alley!

There are some tired "rock legends" that should have called it a day a long ago because they just release crap now. Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Elton John and Carlos Santana to name a few. However the Rolling Stones are an exception. They keep on rocking with all the energy they ever had. No compromise and no bloody Sinatra (Rod) or Country and western (Robert)or just plain mould. (Bob, Elton and Carlos)

Don't get me wrong. There's no bigger fan of Led Zepplin than me and that is why I haven't liked anything Plant has released since "Now and Zen". Eric and Bob haven't released anything inspirational in years. Bob only hangs around because apparently God told him to and I'd rather listen to Doyle Bramhall ll than Eric these days. They have nothing to prove so why not just tour. Just don't release crap albums for diehard fans to blow their money just wanting to keep their collections complete.

I agree. I think Dylan is amazing, but in modern day he is not what he once was is voice is gone and can not perform well live. The Stones still perform great so they keep on rolling.
