ipad is over rated. I bought a Asus Eee Pad Transformer and it does everything the ipad can. Plus I get a docking station with Full QWERTY keyboard, that adds 4hrs of additional usage. It usese Android 3.0 and it is upgradetable.

I am personally using an iPad right now and IMHO I think you should as well before you judge it... Intact I just typed a 35 page essay, did some research, all without any problems. I actually prefer to surf the web on my iPad rather my macbook. It's just an overall better experience for those kind of things.

So far I have not found the lack of flash to be a problem for me, I have laptops and a netbook which I find useful for more geeky things. As I said I won my iPad, I was far from being madly in love with the iPad until I got this one, I first played with one when a friend got one the day they were introduced here in the UK, the movie trailers in HD were impressive but I was still not convinced. In about 72 hours of ownership I am sold on it.

I was an iPad critic, then I won one! Battery life is excellent, display is gorgeous. IMHO it is best to dump the iPhone Apps and use the iPad compatible ones all the time. Just put IOS 4.2 on both iPhone and iPad last night. The iPad still has 72% battery left despite playing a streaming radio station all night! (Playing quite loud through internal speaker). Decided that it will mostly be confined to use indoors but it is a very capable device. Ideal coffee table surfer!

My iPad won't let me open up 'videos' or 'iPod' applications that CAME with it... I just backed up my settings, restored it, and loaded it back up with my settings and it won't let me open them! It shows the ipod app for a milli-second, the goes back to the home screen. HELP!?
