it's interesting everyone has a different take on this solo. In the recording, the 16th triplets are like 12 notes per run, whereas you have eight notes per run, best as I can tell. esp as I listen to the recording... there is a Bb ending the run before the A ... but you end with the A as the highest note. Anyway your version sounds really good.
you know what i did? the last scale i made it so i don't move the hand that much as you do, so i can do it fast like you... its simpler if you want to i write you a tab the way i do it, its the same notes but i put my hand on another frets. cheers man you helped me a lot you have the most accurated version of this solo! congrats ^^
Pleeeease can you put tabs on im trying to learn those scale climbs and I cant work them out, the ones from ultimate guitar are wrong. I cant tell what you are pressing on this video. You play it fkn brilliantly, please do a tab.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together, it was extremely helpful. It took me a couple of days but I finally got it.
ediek915 is obviously a jealous player who clearly lacks the commitment and talent that you have. probably plays a lot more with his right hand than he does with his guitar.
People that have talent and are accomplished at playing usually have better things to do than act like critics.
@chrissherrill18@chrissherrill18: Dude!!! you dont really teach exactly how you play the song. You Listen and record in your head each note. This will build up your ear training. The you look to see what fretting positions he uses so that you yourself can be on the same fretting positions.
@chrissherrill18 Dude!!! you dont really teach exactly how you play the song. You Listen and record in your head each note. This will build up your ear training. The you look to see what fretting positions he uses so that you yourself can be on the same fretting positions.
@METALMEATPLOW yeah, slow down and perfect it in slow, might take you 2 or 3 hours, then gradually speed up a few bpm at a time. i think i learned this at about 90 bpm (guessing) then i went up 5 at a time until i got it up to speed. put the track in some audio software and time stretch it to slow it down. cubase does it superb!.
@METALMEATPLOW I'm a total newbie at guitar - I bought my guitar, practiced the scale climb "part 7" for an hour or so every other day for a month and got it fairly well (not full speed though, half at least). The fingers learn - magic :) Then the "part 8" came all by itself within 10 minutes or so. Moving to the third part now, a little more difficult. Problem I have is that other strings keep ringing unintentionally - that's the really hard part.
@darrenarmitage2306 Yeah man. There's a powertab on ultimate guitar and the scale runs have the right notes but are positioned in the most awkward fingering.
What a joke - listen, the internet is vast, mysterious, and full of knowledge: EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO CORRECT GUITAR TABS. I've never seen a one that was correct, including simple rhythm parts.
HOLY CRAP! I don't care what ANYbody says, dude you are freakin WICKED! I'm working on it.... hopefully I'll be this good some day. Keep rockin Darren
Still great to watch, very very close man!!! The only thing that bugs me, and this isn't a knock on the playing AT ALL, is how much your vibrato differs from Jake E Lee's - yours is very fast and narrow, his is a bit slower and much wider - it ALMOST ruins the song for me, but the chops overshadow this small detail!
What about my comment compelled you to take a dig at me? I wasn't insulting this guy at all, he's clearly a great player. I was simply pointing out a technique that is very different from the original - and people are different so that's to be expected. I didn't say it was right or wrong, just different. This guy is a better player than me, no doubt. Personally, my vibrato is more like Jake E Lee's because I like the sound and that was the way I developed that particular technique.
This is an awesome break-down of the guitar solo. THis is one of my favorite guitar solo's of all time. I learned the hard way and of coarse some parts were incorrect. I think this will help me refine my version some. THank again!!! Rock On!!!!
i think the last part is slightly off..not going to look into it in detail and bother telling you the exact notes but they dont fit the same arpeggio as jake e. lee plays, its a few to many major notes. not trying to talk shit on you, your tutorial is awesome for the most part, but anyone following this just play around with the set of arpeggios at the end of the solo. thanks.
Randy Rhoads did write that. but he didnt record it on lp... he died and Jake e lee did it on lp. that is why shortly after jake e lee went on his own to record the badlands..and it was bluesy witch shows this wasnt his music. did a great job playing it on bark at the moon lp though 5*s
wow i never knew that,...... i learned something today really kewel stuff and yea jake e lee did a great job at this solo but i see what you mean as his own stuff just wasn't like this
yes you can even tell how much simpler the guitar playing was on the ultimate sin album.. the one right after shot in the dark.. it was a good album but the guitar work was not near as complex with depth :)
it's aimed at people who've been playing a while, If you can't work out what i'm doing in the breakdown, you're really not gonna nail this solo my friend. sorry.
What kind of equpment would u need to play this..i have been playing for 4 years n havnt really played any solos yet... think it would sound good on a 250$ guitar?
It could sound amazing on a $250 guitar if it's a good $250 guitar played well... More expensive does not always mean better.
To play this you'll need some distortion by means of an overdriven amp or an effects pedal - this will get you started. You can add some flanger effect later on once you have it nailed. Practiceand be patient. Bad habits come easy so maybe get a good guitar teacher to help you with the solo and techniques you'll need to learn to pull this off. Good Luck !
Man your parts 4 & 5 are absolutely awesome! sound perfect! but the 6 sounds different in the end! sounds like some notes are missing =/ but this lesson is simply awesome! you f*ckin rock, man!

The endings deffinetly wrong but if you like playing it like that, it's cool. Not nocking your playing. I was just wondering. Even when when listening to the song and playing along it sounds different to how you do it.
which sounds correct? use your ear, i learned this by importing it into cubase and playing along to it at a reduced speed, then brought it back up to tempo. if it sounds right i go with it, i only use tabs as a basic guide, a starting point if you will.
