  • MUCH THANKS!!

  • u r slightly slower that the original one ...like 3-4 seconds

  • u got a crazy little finger :P

  • Nice lesson man. Ive been playing this song for a while now and get a little rusty at times but with your video im not missing a note.

  • Comment removed

  • it's interesting everyone has a different take on this solo. In the recording, the 16th triplets are like 12 notes per run, whereas you have eight notes per run, best as I can tell. esp as I listen to the recording... there is a Bb ending the run before the A ... but you end with the A as the highest note. Anyway your version sounds really good.

  • on how much bmp is metronome when u are playing scales ?

  • great job man! u r jake;)

  • dude could write up some tabs, that would be awesome.

  • This is like the only good lesson ive seen on youtube lol

  • Yea I really know how to play this guitar solo now lol.

  • In my opinion, the only person Ive seen break down this song correctly yet. Very nice job.

  • that was the first step to becoming my hero :-)

  • noice

  • Vlw kra, me ajudou a tirar algumas dúvidas...

    Abraços! From Brasil =)

  • im so gonna learn this!!!

  • Great...Jake E Lee kicks it !!!!!!

    Very good lesson.

  • jake e lee was originally from ratt

  • Could please write down just the tabs for the lick on 1:18 ?

    :)

  • How do you "pinch"? :/

  • Great job!!!!

  • dude, thats really good for no tabs. did you use any affects with this or just distortion?

  • you know what i did? the last scale i made it so i don't move the hand that much as you do, so i can do it fast like you... its simpler if you want to i write you a tab the way i do it, its the same notes but i put my hand on another frets. cheers man you helped me a lot you have the most accurated version of this solo! congrats ^^

  • @pafares could you please give me that tab for the last scale bro i have been struggling with that part for months and i want to see how you do it

  • absolutly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pleeeease can you put tabs on im trying to learn those scale climbs and I cant work them out, the ones from ultimate guitar are wrong. I cant tell what you are pressing on this video. You play it fkn brilliantly, please do a tab.

  • Without tabs, or even an explanation, this is a fairly pointless video.

Nice playing though. Well done in that respect.

  • think u could put sum tabs with it or sumthing?

  • NICE JOB!

  • man try using tabs, i didtn understand anything.

The people prefers bad tabs to a person how knows to play the song but cant teach

  • Thank you for taking the time to put this together, it was extremely helpful. It took me a couple of days but I finally got it.

ediek915 is obviously a jealous player who clearly lacks the commitment and talent that you have. probably plays a lot more with his right hand than he does with his guitar.

People that have talent and are accomplished at playing usually have better things to do than act like critics.

    well done

  • This is where its nice to know your scales.

  • you should make ur own tab of how u played it and post it on here lol

  • I'm nowhere near able to play that. Fuck me.

  • Thank you man!

  • u kno how to play but u cant teach

  • @chrissherrill18 @chrissherrill18: Dude!!! you dont really teach exactly how you play the song. You Listen and record in your head each note. This will build up your ear training. The you look to see what fretting positions he uses so that you yourself can be on the same fretting positions.

  • @chrissherrill18 Dude!!! you dont really teach exactly how you play the song. You Listen and record in your head each note. This will build up your ear training. The you look to see what fretting positions he uses so that you yourself can be on the same fretting positions.

  • Tabs?

  • Try adding tabs, i didn't understand ANYTHING xD

  • that's not the way Jake plays it...no one can master his technique!

  • waaa?!? perfect! well done, congrats, good job, superb... did i forget something?:)

  • awsome job dude good work!

  • Those scale climbs obliterate me. Any advice for someone at the end of their rope and plateauing HARD on guitar?

  • @METALMEATPLOW yeah, slow down and perfect it in slow, might take you 2 or 3 hours, then gradually speed up a few bpm at a time. i think i learned this at about 90 bpm (guessing) then i went up 5 at a time until i got it up to speed. put the track in some audio software and time stretch it to slow it down. cubase does it superb!.

  • @darrenarmitage2306 Thank you for a response. I will keep plugging, thanks! :)

  • @METALMEATPLOW I'm a total newbie at guitar - I bought my guitar, practiced the scale climb "part 7" for an hour or so every other day for a month and got it fairly well (not full speed though, half at least). The fingers learn - magic :) Then the "part 8" came all by itself within 10 minutes or so. Moving to the third part now, a little more difficult. Problem I have is that other strings keep ringing unintentionally - that's the really hard part.

  • great lesson Darren! anta dare! ;)

  • could you tab it out plz?

  • damn thats almost too clean

  • Great job, any chance you could do the outro solo too?

    thanks

  • I'm having real trouble with the fast bit in part 4 where it goes something like this on the G and D strings:

    G: ------21p17------21p17-------

    D: ----------------19-----------19---

It just doesn't seem to flow right for me, any ideas why?

  • Very good! Can you tell your setting for your solo? Thanks a lot!

  • And where i can have the same tabs as you. THanks!

  • very good! great expalining aswell, section by section! nice jobb!

  • what kind of pedals and amp do you use ?

  • what tab did you use?

  • didn't, they were all wrong. I slowed it down bud, and sussed it that way.

  • @darrenarmitage2306 Yeah man. There's a powertab on ultimate guitar and the scale runs have the right notes but are positioned in the most awkward fingering.

  • @darrenarmitage2306

Great lesson and what effect are you using?

  • What a joke - listen, the internet is vast, mysterious, and full of knowledge: EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO CORRECT GUITAR TABS. I've never seen a one that was correct, including simple rhythm parts.

  • el mejor solo de Bark at The Moon q veoo en Youtube.!!! Good..!

  • FINALLY! a great instructional video for this solo!

  • Thanks you, Bitch :D

  • that is not wiced sick.. thats just tecnuice..

  • best bark at the moon solo on youtube

  • is that from ultimate guitar?

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY CRAP! I don't care what ANYbody says, dude you are freakin WICKED! I'm working on it.... hopefully I'll be this good some day. Keep rockin Darren

  • Great Job!

  • good

  • Still great to watch, very very close man!!! The only thing that bugs me, and this isn't a knock on the playing AT ALL, is how much your vibrato differs from Jake E Lee's - yours is very fast and narrow, his is a bit slower and much wider - it ALMOST ruins the song for me, but the chops overshadow this small detail!

  • Maybe you could show all of us how to do it right.

  • What about my comment compelled you to take a dig at me? I wasn't insulting this guy at all, he's clearly a great player. I was simply pointing out a technique that is very different from the original - and people are different so that's to be expected. I didn't say it was right or wrong, just different. This guy is a better player than me, no doubt. Personally, my vibrato is more like Jake E Lee's because I like the sound and that was the way I developed that particular technique.

  • This is an awesome break-down of the guitar solo. THis is one of my favorite guitar solo's of all time. I learned the hard way and of coarse some parts were incorrect. I think this will help me refine my version some. THank again!!! Rock On!!!!

  • man, you are freaking awesome...but, as you are making video lessons, you should put the camera a bit closer to the neck of the guitar.

  • great job, but i am thinking of getting POD X3 Live and I know you have pod XT live so I was just wandering what you think.

    great playing

  • Great sound on all your videos

Could you mail me your bundle ?

I have a pod xt live too.

  • excellent

  • u rock dude awesome song

  • tysm for making this vid.... i learn it so easily from this

  • Where did u learn to play like that?! i think this video is fake lol jk nice job

  • fucking amazing!!!! love this solo, you play it so clean!

  • Nice JOB!

  • what program do you use to record, do you connect it straigt to your computer? or to some sort of device? plz respond, i need to know, Thanks!

  • He's using just a pod xt live.

  • correct, cheers bud. must admit, its the best bit of kit i've ever bought!

  • pod xt live board, direct into pc via a delta 1010lt, and i record with cubase. hope this helps!

  • wow man... that was incredibly clean...

  • ya not even jake played it that clean,im guessing its plugged straight to his computer so theres no feedback

  • it is straight into pc, via a pod xt live board, you're right, it does eliminate unwanted noise.

  • i think the last part is slightly off..not going to look into it in detail and bother telling you the exact notes but they dont fit the same arpeggio as jake e. lee plays, its a few to many major notes. not trying to talk shit on you, your tutorial is awesome for the most part, but anyone following this just play around with the set of arpeggios at the end of the solo. thanks.

  • exelente!! muy wenooo!!..... good.!!

  • bueno. not weno

  • great!

  • well played

  • Comment removed

  • Wow well played man, i did the cover too and its nice to play it, check my version

    Keep Rocking

  • nice job...what effects do you use ? pedals ?amp?

  • fuck it

  • WOW! Good JOB man! you've really helped me. I've been working for this solo for almost a week, and this video is a big help for me.

  • how do u learn to do that

  • Nice lesson i just cant figure out how to play parts 7-8 on speed

  • great! hope that i can play like this someday

  • U Rule!!! Big help for me..better than boring old guitar pro..or lame ass paper tabs

  • Randy Rhoads did write that. but he didnt record it on lp... he died and Jake e lee did it on lp. that is why shortly after jake e lee went on his own to record the badlands..and it was bluesy witch shows this wasnt his music. did a great job playing it on bark at the moon lp though 5*s

  • wow i never knew that,...... i learned something today really kewel stuff and yea jake e lee did a great job at this solo but i see what you mean as his own stuff just wasn't like this

  • yes you can even tell how much simpler the guitar playing was on the ultimate sin album.. the one right after shot in the dark.. it was a good album but the guitar work was not near as complex with depth :)

  • amazing

  • SON OF A BRICK I'm jealous

  • 99.99% perfect xD

  • yea you dont help much.

  • it's aimed at people who've been playing a while, If you can't work out what i'm doing in the breakdown, you're really not gonna nail this solo my friend. sorry.

  • nice thx could u do a close up lesson on the fast part at the end of the solo please

    thx

    guitarjordan11

  • What kind of equpment would u need to play this..i have been playing for 4 years n havnt really played any solos yet... think it would sound good on a 250$ guitar?

  • That's pretty impressive dude.

  • i use a pod xt live board, and a £500 guitar, thats it..you don't need to spend thousands.

  • thx

  • It could sound amazing on a $250 guitar if it's a good $250 guitar played well... More expensive does not always mean better.

To play this you'll need some distortion by means of an overdriven amp or an effects pedal - this will get you started. You can add some flanger effect later on once you have it nailed. Practiceand be patient. Bad habits come easy so maybe get a good guitar teacher to help you with the solo and techniques you'll need to learn to pull this off. Good Luck !

  • thats good (applause)

  • awesome fuckin' tone!!!

  • Dude you are so damn good.

  • Dude, you totally know what you're doing. You're a master and a half.

  • thaxs men perfect

  • Man your parts 4 & 5 are absolutely awesome! sound perfect! but the 6 sounds different in the end! sounds like some notes are missing =/ but this lesson is simply awesome! you f*ckin rock, man!

  • Thanks a lot for posting this, I`m nearly there...gotta give it a rest though, been playin a little too much lately and the joints on my left hand fingers really hurt;))Hoping to get the speed and consistency that you have with time..

  • practice practice practice......;.)

  • wouldn't have any soul if it didn't, this solo rocks :)

  • great job man.guys like you only make me get better.thx for lesson.keep rockin

  • nice man you realy play great

  • sounds like this guy learned it by ear, little different then the book but it souns fine

  • The endings deffinetly wrong but if you like playing it like that, it's cool. Not nocking your playing. I was just wondering. Even when when listening to the song and playing along it sounds different to how you do it.

  • out of interest did u learn this out of a book? because you play it a little different to what i've learnt out the troy stetina book.

  • which sounds correct? use your ear, i learned this by importing it into cubase and playing along to it at a reduced speed, then brought it back up to tempo. if it sounds right i go with it, i only use tabs as a basic guide, a starting point if you will.

  • WOW DUde thats all I can say..Im a guitar player my self of 20 years..and that was a great job doing that solo...

  • Great job, good teacher this helps!

  • Jake E Lee wrote this

  • The end of part 1 and the shredding at the end are my favourite parts. Thanks for this!

  • Rhoads wrote it!

  • sgdc18 NO Randy Rhoads didn't Jake E Lee did. Get the Bark At The Moon album and see for yourself. Randy Rhoads recorded the "blizzard of ozz" an "Diary Of A Madman" albums with Ozzy.

not the "Bark At The Moon' album

  • ok then fukin hell dnt get shitty fukin wanker! ive got the album n i no i made a mistake ok!!!

  • sgdc18 you got it WRONG!!

look it up you fucking idiot!

  • sgdc18 sorry i didnt see that.

  • nah its ok basicaly wat happend was i was watchin a guitar lesson which was a rhoads song and i bassicaly got mixed up lol!

  • sgdc sorry but rhoads died in 82 before the album came out so Jake E. Lee did it. no joke he only did the first to albums.

  • i know sorry! ive already said i made a mistake...i was watching a guitar lesson before i watched this 1 which was crazy train i think, which was by rhoads and i basicaly got it mixed up.

  • great job, thanks for the vid. been trying to learn this amazing solo for a while now.

  • Great sound

  • Thanx alot for this vid, it really helped me =) only need to work on my speed.

btw, where did you get the backing track ? :P

  • its a midi, you can get it from my website

  • you are amazing, but could you do this slower and explain the frets to play cuz i am a kinda beginner and cant see or hear by watching, PLAEASE!!!!!

  • that was sickkkkk

  • Wow thanks for making this video, I'll be studying this and your technique religiously for the next while. Sounds great!

  • hey who played the original. I think jake e lee was the permenant replacement after randy but ozzy did have a habit of getting drunk & hiring anyone who offered (not telling sharon, obviously!)

  • Rhodes played it and Jake E Lee took over after Rhodes died.

  • so Rhodes wrote the song, but Jake E Lee was the guitarist when it was released?

  • all jake i'm afraid, this was after randy

  • ok, thats wut i thought, but i had seen otherwize around youtube...

    thx for clearin things up

  • nice :] is that a PRS you're playing?

  • ibanez my friend.

  • oh my cow he's good

  • YOUR INCREDIBLE!!

and, if you don't mind me saying, pretty cool for an older guy :)

  • thanks, i think lol.
