A tornado can happen anywhere, under correct conditions, I studied Meteorology during my middle school years, b/c I wanted to be one, saying tornado's only happen in certain area's is bad logic, They said that a tornado could never hit a major city, and look at Miami.
California is more prone to earthquakes, since you do sit on a fault line.
yeah it was small to what has been though that area in alabama i live about 15 miles away from where this happend and we had a tornado that was an EF-4 and it was a half mile wide and it picked up a 3 story brick house and moved it across the street in to a million peices and all that was left was a concrete slab where the house was it hit about 300 yard from me never even heard it go by

Just imagine what this thing could have done if it was an EF-4 and had a funnel about 4 times as wide as that one.

Tornados can happen anywhere in the world, FYI.

im in california and never have we had a tornado or hurricane scare of anykind, nor have i heard about them.
"technically" you may be right. but the odds of that are few and far between. there will never ben wind picking up cars in california

Tornadoes have occurred in all 50 states. In most places tornadoes are rare but they do occur.
