@TheHaydeeliz caps doesnt make people help you, check a forum, and get a gsr ecu, also, yout ls doesnt have the fucking connector because its not a fucking vtec motor....., you need the engine wiring harness to connect the solenoid
how come alot of the people who have commented are calling each other idiots, when they can't even use the correct words nevermind spelling.. seems to be a great car bought by alot of illiterate wankers!
the vtec sound about normal, remeber a bone stock gsr and b16a? the vtec sound explosive in the car. but it should be tune at vtec point at 3000, and then 7000, then set your point at where the tq peak meet with hp, your low cam will give you more tq then hp, vtec set too low, u miss what the low cam power will make for you, vtec set too high, u having power come so much later, have u heard vtec at 7k??? is a lot louder lol, but the point is tune it to where your low cam and high cam are best
if you close the butterflies like that, it will only "pop" at 4400 when vtec really crosses over....at 5300 you are hearing those butterflies open up, lengthening the intake runners
are all u stupid fuck really that stupid!! "oh you shouldnt hear the vtec tras over like that......cam timing advance???? lmfao!!!! yall need to go pick up a book mag or even go online and do some research! jdm type r sylinoid i bet!
v-tec isnt anything special dudes its just the cam timing advancing at high rpm.. and you shouldnt hear such a change like that, im not sure how they advance the cam timing, guessing its electronic. but it doesnt "cross over" or change anything.
@KindyCove lmfao!!! what you think there a lil spring inside the cam that flicks over at 4 grand like toyotas? fukin stupid ass! i bet you didnt know that the rocker arms have anything to do with it huh????
you idiot!!!! listen to the video at 20 seconds and you can here v-tec kick, i have a GSR with a type r swap and it kicks like crap, if you can't tell when v-tec kicks you need to do alot of research or open your ears!!!!
@StacKz0nDecK thats not the vtec kicking in your the fucken dumb ass im sure every1 here alredi realises it. Your the one whos wrong and needs to get your facts right so dont go telling other people its wrong. Talk when you have an ITR
and thats funny because guess what i really dont give a fuck! you can save your shit because it seems like someones trying to be a know it all. that is the vtec kicking in you stupid fucking faggot stop getting answers from ya mama and go check your self. That shit is dumb old and has been over with, get a life and get over it!
@StacKz0nDecK lol i drive one so i know, so stfu coz you dont know sht you cant even tell the difference between someone beginning to put their foot on the gas and when vtec kicks in so just stfu please your an embarassment.
and if you was smart enough to know im basically saying the power of the engine is starting to build up so it can reach up to the vtec at 0:20 u damn dick!
@StacKz0nDecK nooo if you were smart enough you wouldve used your words carefully becoz "vtec kicking in" quoting you btw, does not mean the power of the engine is starting to build up.
lol wow what i have learned in 6 months lol i feel i have learned so much seeing the stupid shit i was talking. from stock to stroker h22 lmao. i move my vtec constantly lol. i like it at 4,500 just normal driving (sounds very nice and shift when it engages) and like 6,000 if i racing. i got msd with 9.1 pill so i redline at 9,100 now. vtec is amazing.
vtec hitting hard, though it sounds cool, isn't good. you should have a smooth even transition to vtec for a more linear power curve. people raise the vtec rpm because they think that its gonna make more power. but the reason it hits so hard, is because it starts falling out of its power band just before it hits. if you lower the engagement you will notice a big increase in low end tq. thats why when you get big cams, you cant notice the vtec crossover, and it sounds like its going to die at
SO you are saying that an AGGRESSIVE vtec cross is bad for performance? thats stupid man think about how many parts and ecu's they make that specificaly make vtec more aggressive? ??? if you no somethin i dont hit back
@te37drift so what if it was stock, and hitting Vtec hard? because i have a k20a2 with just intake and header, and it hits pretty hard, and pulls the hell out of my car, and when it engages vtec, it is a pop very well like this video. never touched my vtec actuation points or anything. its how my motor came, and its an extremely healthy motor. so you're saying my motor is bad when its stock like
@te37drift lawl even though you may think you know shit...i dont agree. I have a single cam vtec and i couldnt hear my vtec at all bc you can hardly hear it on single cams, but once i ported it to the max i heard it pretty loud and i got a big increase in power. Correct me if im wrong but i think the crossover has alot to do with the choice in manifolds and intakes thats is my 2 cents to your response lol.
@te37drift I agree that messing with the Vtec can cause performance loss but I own an Integra type r 97 and Vtec engages at 6,000rpm and red lines at 8,500, this is stock and it hits vtec hard, not supposed to be smooth, vtec is a quick change when the pin locks the bigger cam lobe, it's an instant change.
@Trunk8 I own a white 97, black 00, and yellow 01 type r's. It may feel like vtec "hits hard" but, put it on a dyno and look at the power curve. play with vtec engagement points and compare. The small lobe starts falling off of power around 6500 on Itr cams. That's why they have the big lobe to carry power all the way to the 8600 rpm rev limit. That's also why different vtec motors have different engagement points.
@Trunk8 Look @ the 1st gen b16 vtec @5200 rev limit 8100. B16b ctr, vtec 6200, rev limit 9000. Different cam profiles make power in different areas. Just because you raise the vtec engagement doesn't mean its gonna make more power. In fact, it will probably make less power than stock just before vtec engages. Which is why it will "hit hard". Because the small lobe has fallen out of its power band. If you're gonna change the engagement point, lower it some for more low end torque. But don't go
@Trunk8 too low. Vtec is based off of oil pressure. All you're doing when changing vtec points is telling the computer to require a different amount of oil pressure for engagement. If you set it too low, you wont have adequate lubrication, and you can starve the head of oil. Which is why vtec wont engage if you're low on oil. The money spot for most oem b series cams seems to be about 4800 rpm.
well u ever notice how on a GSR it sounds like it bangs vtec twice, well on the intake manifold, theres a round circle lookin thing on the intake manifold, there should be a vaccum line atteched to it, discinnect the vaccum line, and plug it, and the car should bang harder, PM $ any questions
No. What he is describing is dual runners. The car has 2 length runners. A long one, which is always open, for low end torque and FE on light loads. The dual runner, the short one, is opened via RPM activation just prior to vtec. You will audibly hear it, but it isn't vtec. This allows much quicker flow thru the intake manifold for the engine. But anyone who knows hondas knows that manifold is crap, and to replace it with a Skunk 2 intake manifold for easy gains.
@vortec330 yeah...thats because the jdm gsr and usdm b18c1 gsr both have that 2 stage throttle body...but ur right...idk if its a power gainer or not....my first car was 97 GSR blew up the usdm and upgraded to JDM then sold
