I love all these comments about the Pac 10 supposedly owning the Big Ten. TECHNICALLY, I'll grant you that over the last 5-7 years or so, the Pac 10 probably has had the statistical edge over the Big Ten. But you know just as well as I do that 90 percent of this is the work of ONE school: USC. If you're from USC, I have no argument against you: you HAVE owned the Big Ten lately. But anybody else from the Pac 10, give me a break and stop piggybacking off of another school's success.

Penn State will have a good, but quiet, year, as they HAVE lost some key players. Purdue MIGHT be good and who the hell knows with Michigan. But the bottom line is that this year, the Big Ten will have some serious depth and will have its stongest season in YEARS.

Now I'll grant you that the Big Ten went through a weak spell from around the mid-2000s until 2008 (and 2008 was probably the WORST season I've ever seen in all my years of following the conference). But the Big Ten bounced back nicely last year and a lot of the teams that did well (i.e. Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa) have basically EVERYONE coming back. And I'm telling you right now: watch out for Michigan State this year. (continued)
