Why do TV makers keep adding worthless junk and dropping what's truly important?

"Smart TV"? Junk. Media player? Junk. Interactivity? Junk.

What would make me say "I want this TV"? S-Video ports. SCART ports. A built-in upscaler / scanline generator. Definition greater that "full HD". And a 4:3 screen -- widescreen is not really wide, it's actually short. It's a scam to sell you a smaller screen for the same "inches".

Apple will sue Lenovo because they "stole their concept of a "smart" tv. Even more is that they might get sued by Nintendo because they're using a the same tech as a wii remote (a remote with an accelerometer).
