  • Nice work, young man.

  • Thank you

  • Very Good Video 5stars. God bless you and please dont waste your typing fingers on someone who only wants to argue for there audience. Peace

  • tHIS IS A GREAT VIDEO .

  • most will miss heaven because they miss the simplicity of the work of Jesus on the cross.

thank you for all of your comments

  • And last comment as this is not really a fruitful discussion. You said: "you are arguing from a position that is almost opposite to what I conclude the Bible teaches"

In response to this: "Jesus commands poverty. Jesus commands pacifism(really even more than pacifism). Paul said celibacy is the best life style. "

What!?! Have your read Paul's letters? Have you read the gospels? Maybe get one of those red print bibles so you can see when Jesus is talking.

  • "Sounds like you know lots about Catholicism(wink wink..."

Sounds like you know lots about the Bible (wink wink...

I can see that you are really passionate about finding the truth on this issue, but without a proper understanding of Bible Doctrine, especially in dealing with dispensations, nobody is able to place the Bible into a perspective which is actually applicable to his/her live.

  • "Why are the only people who really live out the commandments of Jesus not Christians."

Many of the religions of the world practice asceticism in their attempt either to get into heaven or to reach the next plateau of enlightenment. The Bible says that in order for a person to make it into heaven they must obey the law completely. Nobody, "Buddhist monks(Possibly some Hindu and Shaman peeps...)" comes close to fulfilling this law.

  • I think there are 613 rules in the law of Moses' Even the best Jews failed miserably over the course of their lives in attempting to follow this law. Jesus was the only one who could fulfill this law. Many of the laws are carried over today and while some of them have stricter penalties than others here on earth they are all equal in God's eyes. The laws which are repeated give us the list of sins that we are not to perform in the New Testament.

  • Lets just get on the same page here. Agree or disagree with me on each statement. The Bible says:

A)You can tell who a mans master is by who he obeys.

B)Jesus commands that you love AND do good to your enemies and those that harm you.

C)Jesus speaks about poverty being the best state and preaches against being rich

D)Paul says that Celibacy is the best state and marriage is only for those with out the spiritual discipline to remain celebrate.

  • I was not done with my prior response before I recieved this one.

You need to understand that you are misapplying these specific teachings. Does Jesus and Paul say these things? yes, but the sermon on the mount applies to a different dispensation. Some of what Jesus said can be applied to our dispensation, but all were meant to be applied to a future dispensation.

Btw, spiritual discipline has nothing to do with whether a person gets married or not.

  • Now assuming you dont disagree(if you do I can dig up verse after verse for each of those. Its in very plain wording). Where are the Christians who practice what Christ taught. Or even paul?

Where are the Christians who do the things that Jesus said Christians should and would be doing. The ones that don't exult themselves(Being saved, having the right morals/religion). Why dont Christians do these things? You still wont answer.

And yes, I do know the Bible very well.

  • Ooooh, wait. Never mind. I caught the answer. The difficult commands, the ones that put the spiritual before the material are't applicable to anyone's life Gotcha. Thanks for the info.

Oh by the way, dispensations? Though it is a very clever way of picking and choosing what you want out of the Bible. God NEVER changes, be we know exactly how he changes when dealing with us...or something.

But I get it. The whole Love/do good to the enemies thing must not apply to this period.

  • I can't continue this any longer because you have shown no evidence that you actually understand what I am saying. Especially with that last remark,

"The whole Love/do good to the enemies thing must not apply to this period."

    That was way off base.

I stress that the link which I have sent you will provide you with most of the answers to your questions...It is now up to you whether you choose to take part in learning the information provided. I cannot be your teacher.

  • Ok, thanks for your imput/time.

  • I know the Bible very well thank you. I think the books is great. Christians just dont understand it.

Buddhist monks: spend their lives trying to better understand Yahweh(is-ness, being, I am, etc...). Jesus commands poverty. Jesus commands pacifism(really even more than pacifism). Paul said celibacy is the best life style. I know of no pastors that even attempt that. Maybe you could consider some missionaries. But 99.999% of christian leaders dont even attempt it.

  • Sir,

you are arguing from a position that is almost opposite to what I conclude the Bible teaches.

So here is some more advice: Bible doctrine is the categorizations of teachings from the Bible. If you want to truly understand what the Bible says about life you have free access to these kinds of teachings. I'll send you a link.

  • No, that is not really what I am looking for. I can find yogis living their faith, covered in ash meditating for days at a time, Buddhists living their faith, with no posessions, endless compassion, vegan, etc. I was just wondering where the Christians are that live their faith beyond being in the saved group and trying to do what they think is Good. Jesus literally commanded pacifism. Jesus literally commanded poverty. To get rid of your earthly treasures.

  • I'm not trying to be an Jerk at all, but really, where are they? The Bible says the only way to know a man's master is by who he obeys. Where are the Christians that call Jesus their master?

The only ones I have found so far are some of the members of Ananda Yoga, but they borrow heavily from yogic and Buddhist traditions. I suppose it helps them to actually follow the teachings of Christ.

But thanks for trying to help. If you run across what I am looking for, let me know.

  • Have you ever studied the teachings of Paul who wrote most of the New Testament?

That link I sent you provides you with access to the doctrinal teachings of the entire book of Romans. If you just ordered the first cd or mp3 you might have some questions answered.

and to order it is free. I mean you don't even have to pay the postage.

  • I've read the Bible front to back a few years ago. I still read it probably once or twice a week and I'm not a Christian. From what I can tell, I've studied it magnitudes more than most Christians. I've been told to teach sunday school(I would probably get in trouble for not believing in a god needing innocent blood sacrifice, or the personal god thing)

I simply want to see one group, or at least one leader, who follows the commands of his master, Jesus. If you dont know of any thats fine.

  • For instance, mother Teresa would be a good example. But come on, a good religion or correct spirituality should make 100's of her, not just one.

  • Mother Teresa was Catholic. I do not know about her individually but Catholics add their own works like sacraments and confession to what Jesus did on the cross in an attempt to get into heaven.

A person will never make it into heaven if they never accept what Christ did for them on the cross as complete payment for their sins.

As for your question, My church has a lot of people who really practice what they preach.

  • Sounds like you know lots about Catholicism(wink wink... I have no doubt your Church practices what THEY preach. Where are the people who practice what Jesus commanded of his followers. The Biggies I'm thinking of that other religions seem to have no problem with are poverty, pacifism, and selflessness. How many people in your church are against all wars and violence? How many are for "doing good to your enemy/those that hurt you"...and the other things Jesus literally ordered.

  • Its a really simple question that you seem to just not want to answer or something. And thats fine. You can just say you dont know.

  • Why are the only people who really live out the commandments of Jesus not Christians. TO be honest, Buddhist monks(Possibly some Hindu and Shaman peeps as well) are the only ones that come even close to what Jesus commanded of his followers. He also said that you can tell believers from non believers by the way the act.

Which is weird. Not even Church leaders do what Jesus said. They rail on Gays, promote war and ignore that Jesus said to give up worldly possessions. Its just really weird.

  • You know, I started out answering your question with this long explanation, but I got to thinking.

What you are saying is actually very revealing about what you know about the Bible, so I have some advice.

Forget everything that you think you know and start from scratch again b/c if you think that a Buddhist monk is more of a Christ follower than your average American pastor there really isn't very much that I can say to help.

good luck in your future endeavors.

  • Go and look in the Bible. Look what Jesus says to do and then ask yourself who even attempts to live that way? Some people do a little. But anything that would really affect worldly things, no one does.

Sure maybe the lay population shouldnt be held to that standard, but surely those who are really seeking the deepest relation with the Spirit would, the leaders.

I don't see it. If you know of any besides maybe Ananda Yoga people, let me know. I'd love to find them.

  • uh huh...yeah...

  • With this system, does a Carnal Believer only receive rewards and blessings in this world?

While a Spiritual Believer receives those and rewards in the afterlife?

  • "With this system, does a Carnal Believer only receive rewards and blessings in this world?"

Essentially, yes, the carnal believer has unconfessed sin on his soul so he does not produce anything which is acceptable to God neither in this life nor for after death.

  • "While a Spiritual Believer receives those and rewards in the afterlife?"

A Spiritual believer has all sin confessed so when this is true for the believer this is the only time he can produce anything that God will accept and reward.

  • Christianity in a graph........?

  • hmm lol........*whoosh* right over me head on that one

  • I guess it isn't easy to understand.
