  • breathoffreshair360 the video is awesome. great for this song.

  • Thanks for posting this Allman Brothers classic. The sheet music for Gregg Allman's Hammond B-3 organ solo on "Stormy Monday" can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm - a note-for-note transcription. The organ solo starts at 5:05 of this post - a great solo!

  • Masterful; Magical. . !

  • The ultimate-then best. The bending of the notes. Oh sure there are probebly guys layers faster, technically better but for tone and raw feeling their has never been any better.

  • these guys could write and make music god bless southeren rock

  • God I Love this song!

  • Not only is this song an old friend but the entire album. Used to play this album every day while in college, doesn't get much better than this! I feel sorry for the people today that grew up listening to shit. There has not been any good "popular music" since the early seventies. Only the shit that corporate America thinks will make money. God help us all

  • Who the fuck is the one who doesn't like this song??

  • @MrSpatoff A fucker who doesn't understand good music when they hear it, lmfao!! ~ Phurdrick B-)

  • @breathoffreshair360 Probably someone who can't get past the part where they go to D7 after walking up from G7, then after yanking away the A minor from (whoever disliked) they land on Ab. If I were 20 years younger I might get pissed at that too, I guess as you age your mind opens up a little. It sits ok with me.

  • @breathoffreshair360 Ok I just listened to it again, I guess it's an Eb, not Ab. Either way, who knows why.

  • @monkeybass01 If you over analyze the music too much, you'll totally miss the beauty, The Allman Brothers Band is bring to this cover. ~ Phurdrick

  • @MrSpatoff LADY GA GA!

  • @MrSpatoff LOL LOL LOL. I don't like the f word but you are so right!!!! It's probably a Justin Bieber fan.

  • @MrSpatoff a Barry Manilow fan

  • This jam is an old friend

  • @SeamusmcDoober One of mine, too. Along with "Done Somebody Wrong." OK, the entire album. I wore out 2 copies of it on vinyl, and it was one of the first cd's I ever bought many years ago.

  • Duane Allman has been dead 40 years today. We love you Duane. You are the god of slide guitar. No one will ever touch your skill even with a glass bottle of coricidin

  • Im kinda prejudice about these guys..Saw the original band 4 times in the 70's....Never been anybody like them before or since...

  • @MsGunslinger53 I agree 100%, MsGunslinger53! ~ Phurdrick

  • One of the BEST EVER.....

  • This is da bomb. I have this version, the orginal from Bobby Bland and another I think from T-Bone Walker. This is my fav.

  • niceee someone who actually posts the original, good job man

  • total badasses......... they were not in it for the money they loved playing great music :)

  • i had this on cassette years ago and happened to find the 2 cd set of the fillmore shows and i had to have it.. this is some classic soulful southern blues thanks for t he post

  • @stratplayer5769 Have you notice how today's version of the ABB is really not as good and in the same league as the original lineup? It is so clear when you listen to any of the original band shows and albums. The only thing I can figure is all the cats you are so hot about Warren, Derek and Otiel must have never seen the origial lineup and just don't know what the difference is. Probably the closest to the original was the Warren, Dickey, Woody lineup but it wasn't as good either

  • @boblackey1 yeah they are ok but nothing matches the filmore shows and i like dereks slide alot but duane has fire in his playing i think

  • THIS IS SUCH A GREAT SONG I LOVE THE BLUES

  • Nice video! I've allowed it as a video response and accept your invitation. :)

  • @FriedEggsandChips Thanks, :O)

  • @FriedEggsandChips Who is The Alman brothers band??

  • This is a great song. Duane plays a slide guitar and if you listen close you can hear it talking to you. Man the chords are perfect. I saw this band at the Fillmore East and you can't believe music could come from a man such as Duane. I was under the impression that Duane only played a slide for two months prior to Fillmore East. I only hope I get to meet this man when I leavbe this earth and listen to him play for eternity. Clearwater or Cleartwater.

  • feel that thats where its at yup

  • feel that that where it at

  • A couple years ago I put this on in the car while driving my 80 year old mother back to Dayton. She loved it so much I bought the Fillmore album for her. She tells me she plays it all the time, but Stormy Monday is her favorite. She's probably heard 50 versions of it over the years, but the Brothers are her favorite.

  • this tune still blows me away even after 35 yrs

  • @vigburt likewise my friend, brings tears to my eyes

  • @vigburt likewise my friend, brings tears to my eyes

  • This song helps me breath again.

  • A real classic that makes me feel the blues!

  • I'm a 13 year old girl. My favortie band is Led Zeppelin, and my favorite song is Blue Sky. I feel bad for those kids who aren't musically awoken. It's like they're blind. If only they'd open their eyes, maybe they'd see how truely beautiful this music is. <3

  • @catchonfireeasily All I can say is that is great, I was about14 when I found this album at my dad's house, and to think i didn't even know it was jazz, it's all good cause this is pure and when they start swingin on the organ solo, so nice...best jas

  • why other kids in my age don't listen to this music??? my father grew me up not with childish songs but with allmans brothers, CREAM, 10 years after, eric clapton, led zeppelin, deep purple, pink floyd, steppenwolf. i feel sorry about those kids that grow up with justin bieber and other bands that sing only for money!!! that's not the spirit ;) LONG LIVE ROCK n ROCK 'N' ROLL

  • @katipouypaxei actually this isnt rock n roll, its electric blues, but who cares

  • @LedZeppelin420x it's rock n roll from the south!!

  • @katipouypaxei Yeah man I'm 18(is that still young haha?) and my Dad brought me up the rock n roll way!!!(minus the drugs lol)

  • @anonymouslolxD well man i'm younger than you 17 :D

  • @anonymouslolxD Same here broski.

  • @katipouypaxei

I am glad your parents did the same as i did for my son....props to the....Long live the Allman music!!....

  • @katipouypaxei This is the type of music that I turned my Son on to, along with our favorite, Rush. He's seen them 3 times with me and took him to see The Who for his 19th Birthday.

  • @katipouypaxei I'm 16 and listen to blues and punk

  • @katipouypaxei Your Dad was great.

  • An amazing song by one of favorite bands. Thanks for posting.

  • there wasnt a better guitar duo than Duane and Dickey masters thats the best way to put it. Even that Greg is a rat he is the most soulful white man to piss between two shoes.

  • FUCKIN "A"!!!!!

  • This tune simply cannot be played any better than they did it back then. Period. Great song to jam on.

  • Wish I found this sooner

  • perfect..........blues.

  • Duane's been gone for so many years now. What a shame he died like that. His brother Greg certainly carried on for him, though and is probably still making music somewhere right now. These guys were hits, forgotten about and hits again so many times during the years since this was made it's amazing to me. I think the national spirit is reflected in the music they made. And when we are high and flying they get forgotten. But when down we remember these songs and use them as therapy

  • What's with this talk of 'southern' rock? I mean - if someone is talking about mozzarella cheese, they don't feel any need to also specify that it's Italian.

  • @gearoiddom yeah, there was some musician, i think eric burdon from the animals who said southern rock is redundant because rock started in the south. its like saying 'rock rock'

  • One of my top 5 favorites performed by them.

  • Duane is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!

  • I absolutley love this song! I play heavy metal ( drums ) but this song moves me in ways I can't expain.

  • You ever wonder just how many babies were conceived to this song... some were not conceived but the parents were practicing to get it right. My wife and I practiced a lot every time I heard this song. Now I'm a professional but I still practice often and the Allman Brothers are an inspiration to many, in fact they are probably responsible for at least 20 million births in this country alone. Cheers!

  • Duane's solo here is just a masterpiece, one of the best solos ever.

  • one of me 3 favorite albums without doubt

  • timeless and priceless

  • i agree with u..da monikka tak was in da orig.....

  • they shoulda put the harmonica part in the record track, but even so, this song is beautiful.

  • Ah yes the blues.. this song in particular is so beautiful phurdrick :-)) ty fam~~Peace/One

  • I've always loved this song every since my older brother played it for me when I was younger. I didn't get the lyrics back then but it moved my soul in such a way that it became one of my favorite song. I hope after hearing this amazing song by The Allman Brothers, you'll walk away feeling the same.~Phurdrick

  • @phurdricktv Hi. Ah yes! exactly the same as me. introduced to me by my older brother on a mix tape, I never knew who it was but walked around as a 10 yr old whistling the guitar solo!
