This was like Sharon's goodbye to the old Nick, HER Nick. The one she was in love with before Cassie died. She didn't want to let THAT Nick go, but she knew that this was only temporary and a fantasy at best. She was happy to have this chance because she didn't get that when Cassie died and everything turned to crap.

The writers must've put that in just for the fans sake without intention of ever getting them back together. I was sooooo disappointed when this scene didn't get them back together in the end and Nick just falls in love with Phyllis again. My last hope was when Nick got his memory back recently, but even that didn't do it! Aaahhh... false hopes, disappointments...
