  • How do i go about getting pinnacle studio 15? you can send me tips at gselebano@yahoo.com or selebagp@eskom.co.za currently i am using pinnacle studio 12 i need an upgrade please help

  • SErious question here. I need to get into video editing and looking for the most user friendly program. I'm torn between Pinnacle, Vegas and Adobe Premiere. Any advice?

  • How do I turn of the capture preview it's making my videos lag

  • can i delete a part of a vid for good and when i edit part of a vid how do i save it into the movie so it can show

  • @flyboyissac1 The software is non-destructive when you cut a video clip. So if you trim it from the timeline, the video will still be in the background in case you need it again. It sounds like you may want to take out a part of the video and delete the rest. In order to do this you need to trim the video and then select Make Movie and create a file. This will make a new file based off of your new in and out point. Then you can delete the large file from your hard drive.

    Anthony

  • is this free?

  • @SoapyGlobe no but if u buy the dazzle studio yes it is

  • @SoapyGlobe Pinnacle Studio is not free but you can always go to the Avid Website to download a 30 day free version to test it out before you buy it.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • hi avid i can't make a new video track

  • @hospiter Which version of the software are you running? Also please try this...Go to the pulldown menu in Pinnacle Studio and find "Show Overlay"! If that is turned off then you will not see the second video track. By selecting "Show Overlay" the second track will show up. I also recommend that you look into upgrading to AVID Studio too because it has unlimitted layers of audio and video.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • Why don't I have all the transitions like you ?

  • @Pengoled I am using Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection which has the most effects and content. There are three levels: HD, Ultimate and Ultimate Collection and depending on which one you have that will dictate what effects and transitions you have. I hope that this helps explain why you see that I have some more effects then your current version has.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • how to do the mix effect with two clip combine

  • @geekinvention799 I am not quite sure of your question and I was wondering if you could add more detail? Are you just talking about about adding a transition between two video clips? If yes, then that is simple. After you have trimmed your video clips, then all you need to do is just drag and drop a transition between the two clips. You can always make your transition longer or shorter by just click on it and dragging the end of it to the right or left.I hope that this helps!

  • so somebody tell me, can you edit the audio of a video to go lower and make audio of a narration higher?

  • @FluffmyPillowBC That is really easy to do. The easy way to lower or raise the volume is to click on the audio track you want to change. Then move the cursor over the audio line and it will turn into a Blue Arrow. Now Hold down the shift key and click on the left mouse button and raise the audio line up to make louder or bring the audio line down to make softer. You can also open up the Audio Mixer too by going to the drop down menu <Toolbox <Change Volume and the mixer opens. Cheers,Anthony

  • @AnthonyMartorina Thanks Man!

  • @FluffmyPillowBC Not a problem!!! Glad I could help!!!

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • thank you for this video... I'll be looking for more!

  • @artug92 There are a lot of these free tutorials on Pinnacle Studio...make sure that you check the AVID Site on You Tube for more of them!!!

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • @Colbster917 I would definately check around...from Best Buy to Amazon dot com there are many retailers that sell the product. Remember that there are three versions of the software: HD, HD Ultimate and HD Ultimate Collection. The last one is the most expensive and comes with the most effects, features, plug-ins and content. So take that into account when you are searching for the software.

  • i wonder if this crappy quality video is made with it

  • @SiRReviews Camtasia (software) was used to do a grab of the computer screen...if you will notice that quality is set to Standard Definition so that playback will be nice and smooth for everyone to learn about the program...many people do not have fast internet playback and if a video is in High Definition it can keep stopping and reloading and that makes the learning process hard.

    Thanks,

    Anthony

  • @Colbster917 Depends where you buy it from. I got it from JB-HIFI for $67. But it was on special. Its usually under $100.

  • @liam2009a The nice thing about Pinnacle Studio is you can upload to You Tube directly from the video timeline. The process is much quicker then having to figure out the correct format of the file and using the You Tube webpage uploader.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • how do u cut up clips

  • @RainingBlood300 There are two ways to cut a clip. You will notice a razor tool on the right hand side of the timeline above the orange timeline numbers. Park the timeline cursor to where you want to cut video and click on the razor tool. You can also move the timeline cursor to the point you want to cut. Move your cursor over that line and right click and select "Split Clip" to cut it.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • sir u didi'nt understand my question i mean to say if add song and i mute the original audio from the clip but i want to not mute some part of the audio from the video

  • @19Sufiyan Opps...sorry...if you need to bring up the audio of the video, then do not mute the whole audio track. You will need to lower the volume. Place the cursor over the audio line...Hold the Shift Key Down...Left click on Mouse Button and pull the line to the bottom. You will see that a node has been added. You can add more nodes by clicking with Left Mouse Button on Line...Add Nodes to the area you want to raise audio and pull them up and that audio is not muted.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • i am new user i want to know that if i have suppose 10 min video clip i want add song in 3 mins video only so can anyone of u tell me how to do that plsssssssssss

  • @19Sufiyan Do you have the song as a digital MP3 or Wave file? If yes, then you simply drag the song down to the audio track and place it where you want it under the video. You can also mute the audio from the video clip by bringing the audio down.

    Cheers,

    Anthony.

  • I hate to burden whoever will answer this with yet another question but I can find NO other place to receive relevant aid regarding this software. Is there a way to do a fade to/from white (as opposed to black) or, for that matter, any other color?

  • I don't suppose there's a way to import video files directly from the hard drive? If not, I just blew $130...

  • @thepieisready Never mind. I figured it out. lol

  • @thepieisready Yes you can import directly from the hard drive...so No you did not blow $130...I am glad that you figured it out. If anyone else is having the same issue, when you have the Edit Tab selected and are looking at your timeline. Select the folder icon at the top of the Album next to the drop down menu when searching for your videos on your computers hard drives.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • @Pogreb29nyak I am so happy that it helped.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • can i delete all the import files ones are check still when i import the new files it only loaded half of them why does this happen can anyone tell me or can i reload the pinnacle and start from new or how do i delete all the files from pinnacle pls help me out pls i be most greatful

  • @gateopenope Are you trying to delete files from your hard drive? If yes then you have to do that from Windows Explorer. Make sure that Pinnacle Studio is shut down in case any of those files are still linked to the program. Then highlight and select delete. Remember that you will be permanently deleting these files from your computer, so make sure that is what you want. You could always move the files to a external hard drive so you will not have to recapture.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • all my video clips are question marks, can any1 help me fix this problem?

  • @ITSMattwaugh The question mark means that Studio can no longer see your video clips. A few things could have happen...1) All of those video clips could have been deleted from the hard drive of your computer. Either accidently by you or Intentionally by someone else who uses your computer. 2) You could have captured them to one folder using Studio and then you moved the files to a different location on your computer...for example a different hard drive or a different folder.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • @AnthonyMartorina thanks for the advice

  • @AnthonyMartorina you seem to know a lot about the software...my question:how do i mute a spesific clip?

  • @netcap001 You can mute a whole track by selecting the mute icon on the left of the timeline track. If you want to mute just a single clip put your cursor over the audio track below the video clip and left click with your mouse and drag the audio down...this will mute the audio of the clip.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • @AnthonyMartorina i figured it out. thanks for the information.

  • @AnthonyMartorina one more question,im going to make a video&post it to youtube, how do i get the best quality?should i export it to my hard drive with avi format and then upload it?or should i directly upload it to youtube from the software itself?

  • @netcap001 Is your video shot in High Definition or Standard Definition? High Definition is going to give you the best quality on You Tube. I would also upload directly from the Pinnacle Studio Timeline it is faster and it will keep quality the highest instead of going to AVI and then to You Tube. If you have version 15 of the software you will be able to export to You Tube in HD...as long as your original footage was in HD.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • @AnthonyMartorina my original footage is not in HD-its quite old actually..the video effect called "auto color correction" seems to make the quality a bit better..i do have version 15..i tried converting to avi and it looks like a better solution, because i wont exceed youtube's video file size limit because the video wont be long. thanks for your comments. you have been a big help

  • @netcap001 Since you are not in HD I would export directly from the Timeline to YouTube. This will keep it at its best quality. If you first export to AVI...the quality is nice if you are going to archieve the video and save it on your hard drive. You Tube takes an MPEG-4 File, so if you go directly from the timeline it will convert into the format that You Tube needs on your page. The Auto Color Correct is a great tool for fixing old footage that may not look exactly good. Cheers,Anthony

  • I hate this editor it always not responding when I use it with my kodak zi8!!!!!! pinnacle studio sucks!!!!

  • @realjuvelive I am not familar with that camera but I know that it shoots HD 1080. Do you know what the file extension is on that camera? (Example: .mov, mpeg, etc) You may want to not use the Studio Importer. Move a clip from the camera to the hard drive of your computer. Then open up Studio and look at the clip from Edit Timeline. This may work...I hope that this helps. Also is your computer fast enough to handle HD footage...that is always a question too.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • can anyone help when i try to upload my video you tube says it doesnt except the file its saved as how do i change this as im a computer nooooob lol !!!!!!

  • @MrHeroic1000 I am not sure how you are trying to put the clip up there? If u r going through YouTube, then they have formats that are acceptable from there webpage. You can do an upload directly from the Studio Timeline. Select the Make Movie Tab and then WEB. You will also need a YouTube Account too to upload to.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • I get it , thanks for your tips ..

  • @shayneo29 So glad that they can help!

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • Thanks for replying Anthony! Helped a bunch!

  • how do i cut the video to an end? like finish the video? please msg me on how

  • @PHOE7VIX That is really easy to do. You can do two things...grab the end of the clip and pull it to the left...this will trim it. You can also use the razor tool to cut it and then select the right side and hit the delete key. Remember that this is always non-destructive too...if you delete that part you can always grab the end of the clip and bring it back.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • hey anyone reading this please answer me, I record with a hauppage hd pvr and record in a MP4 format, am I able to open this video in pinnacle 15?

  • @TheThunder190 Those files should have no problem playing back in Pinnacle Studio because they are a MP4 file. I have not tried a file from hauppage, so I can not be certain but it should definately work.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • Are there any add-ons or packages I can download for free that will give me more editing tools effects transitions ect. If so what are they? I have pinnacle studios 14 HD Plus.

  • @MRxGiZzLeS There are no free add on packages...Pinnacle has a whole bunch of elements that are available for the program...just check there website. You may also want to look into upgrading your current version to Studio 15 or AVID Studio...check the website for upgrade pricing. The Ultimate Collection Version and AVID Studio are going to have the most effects bundled with the program.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • how do you make chapters in the movie where do i drag it on the timeline is it same a video clips just wondering

  • @gateopenope When you are talking about creating chapter points are you talking about creating a DVD? Did you watch the DVD tutorial? I will send you a link directly, so you can watch it. (it is on the AVID You Tube site called...DVD Authoring with Pinnacle Studio 14 & 15)

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • I closed the project and when I reopened it, the timeline was gone...everything I spent editing disappeared...any suggestions?

  • @TAPEMAGAZINE I am crossing my fingers that you saved a copy of the project...but I am assuming that you did not. Did you close the project without saving it? When you close Pinnacle Studio, it says, "Do you want to save your project?" If you say no, then the software does not save the project because you clicked on the NO Button. If the sofware crashed, then Pinnacle Studio has Instant Save Technology...which means the timeline is saved and can be restored on next launch.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • cooll :-)

  • I imported AVCHD 1080p video but I lose all quality for some reason.

Can I actually export in FULL HD?

  • @thelexus i have a similar problem. i own Studio 14 and when i import a video i have already made i lose all quality, but the unedited version of the file it perfect quality before i import it into Studio 14. im sure i have a setting somewhere that is wrong... but cant figure out what it is.

  • @DaistarMC

I'm begining to suspect that the "HD" as advertised on the box refers to the fact that it is compatable with HD and nothing else. If that's true, talk about false afvertising.

  • @thelexus ive been forced to go back to Windows Movie Maker until i can figure this problem out, and that makes me very sad... Whats worse is that even when i lower the quality on WMM so the uploads arn't too large i still get better quality than when I import to Studio 14. That's why I must have something wrong in the setup.... otherwise this program wasnt worth 10 bucks.

  • @thelexus YES you can export your video timeline in Pinnacle Studio in Full HD, you must make sure that you take a look at the Export Settings. It is also important to look at your settings before you start editing too. Go into your settings and select your HD settings for the timeline (you may have it set for SD or lower quality and Studio is down rezing your HD footage). In the settings, check the button...set from frist clip in Timeline and make sure the first clip is HD.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • how do you delete videos to clear memory

  • YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!! This short video has EVERYTHING to get me started and has answered ALL MY QUESTIONS!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

  • @cellg8 You are welcome...now that you are heading in the right direction...please make sure that you check out all of the free Pinnacle Studio 14 tutorials on the AVID You Tube site.

    Cheers, Anthony

  • @AnthonyMartorina

Thank you, Anthony! Seriously..I'm having the trial version now and will definitely buy it because of YOUR INFORMATIVE VIDEOS!! Quick questions:

    1. Instead of exporting to WEB directly from Studio14 (because I encountered an error), what is the best format to upload a movie to youtube manually from harddrive? I uploaded using MPEG4 and the quality wasn't too good?

    2. Is there a 'Vintage' preset in Studio14 like the presents they have in Lightroom for photos?

  • @cellg8 No problem...Question#2 first...yes in Pinnacle Studio you can throw a filter on like the Sepia Filer which will give the photo that Vintage LOOK. You can also throw on the Old Film Filter which puts great drop frames and scratches on the photo, then throw on Pan and Zoom and your photo looks like old film. Very cool. And now on to Question#1...are you uploading HD footage? If yes, then create a MPEG4 based on size of your HD FOOTAGE(720 or 1080)&it looks amazing!

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • Is this editor able to do ramped slow motion?

  • shame its like 50 times slower ¬¬

  • How do you add commentary?? Please message me!

  • @iNickyJ34 You can hook up a micro phone to your computer and then simply go into the Audio Toolbox and you will see an icon that has a microphone on it. Click on this microphone and you will see your video playback and then you will be abe to talk and record your voice directly to the timeline.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • ahha thats so cool. Can you make a video on doing intro i love your videos makes things so much easier and life aswell.

  • @HTKHTKKevin Are you looking for a video on how to create the intro?
