  • this is black is fake he dont know nothing about tango but i want she kkk she is so hot kkkkk

  • Thank you for correcting me. I have no experience with advanced ballroom tango. In Argentine tango I can dance with a new partner, connect, and dance. Neither of us had the same teachers or learned the same steps, but our dance is elegant and fun. If you look at my playlist of Milongas you'll see dancers of all levels connecting and dancing together. Ballroom tango is beautiful, to each his (or her) own.

  • American tango as oppose to Argentine or International tango. Very basic.

  • I call this guy the Smarties man. He moves like a cat with Smarties tubes on its legs. I would strongly recommend against learning ballroom by watching him.

  • its good but its better to memerize it as counting 8 steps, one step for each beat

  • wooonderful ! :D T-A-N-G-O !

  • nice... but don't call it tango plz :)

  • freaks:)

  • this is a cimirtule to there dance teaching tango stoduo

  • XD hhehe ! that´s just funny ... they suck so much ! heheh LMFAO

  • Tango must be teached in a more flexible way, in order to undertand how to dance, you'll have to understand to communicate with your partner every step, every move come from the willing of the man and the understanding of the woman, there is not a pre-formated way to dance tango, slow slow slow quick quick is not a way, and to SAY whether to start to one foot or the other is just BS.

  • Really? Tango must be teached? Nice.

  • Comments like this give me hope for the English language, and also for the future of sarcasm as a form of high art.

  • This is ballroom tango as many others have said and simply a different animal from argentine tango. Main difference is the argentine tango dancers are snobs, as can be observed by their many arogant comments. btw, even though they are snobs, it's exciting to watch.

  • I'm sorry for you if you find this "exciting to watch".

  • The main difference is that Argentine Tango is about the connection between the man and the woman. It is improvised rather than planned. Every dance is different and you do not have to have been taught the same "steps" to dance together.

  • @tanguerochas

Such communication and improvisation would also be part of a ballroom tango danced by a more experienced couple. What you see of ballroom tango on youtube tends to be either presentations by relatively low skill couples, or very exacting reference presentations of school figures by top couples. You don't see very many examples here of ballroom people dancing our tango for our own enjoyment - when we do that there's little reason to set up a camera ;-)

  • Thank you for answer to me, but I am argentinian, I am a Tango dancer, and Tango has 8 basic steps. If you do not believe me, you could come to Buenos Aires betwen August 23 and 31, and you can watch for yourself on Tango World Championship.

  • this is the european tango for ballroom dancing standard (they suck at it). this is not the tango argentine, why are there always people who don't know the difference

  • You have to realize, they are showing a very toned down version of a basic step. I'm sure they are better than they are presenting on this video. I mean, everyone I know that teaches dancing teaches that way.

  • bien dicho, saludos, Miguel

  • Hey, folks, lighten up! Where did this video say it was Argentine? They're two difference genres. For rank beginners does it much matter? As long as the student enjoys it. And can remember what to do next while dancing.

  • I could agree with you about the enjoyment, nobody can call this "Tango", is anything but...

  • yeah this is the tango..ive been learning in school tomorrows my show i suck at it ):

  • Tango? Is this tango? Its been a while for me, but this doesn't ring a bell, at all. I remember it with a crossing of the leg (woman) This (Im sorry) looked a bit like fast food, compared to a restaurant dinner.

  • You're talking about the Argentine Tango. This is how a basic looks for a regular Tango. The two distinctly different. :) I wish I knew the Argentine Tango.

  • That is not tango... learn first then try to teach.

  • this is exactly how im learning the tango at my dance studio. it's just a basic. they're just robotic and lacking technique because it's for beginners.

  • That's an easy way to remember that by spelling "tango." They teach at the Star Ballroom dance studio in Hallandale. Just learn from them!

  • This is ballroom tango

  • is that tango?!

i thought that was more fox trott

but the quick quick goes to the left

    i'm confused...

  • Very nice but no is argentinian tango, sorry.

  • Very True.

  • think of putting yr slippers on young lady instead of the high heels... it will be more his height and you will be more in balance.. Everything is so good , the look, the advice, well very great lessons from very professionnal people...:$ Oh my God!!!!

  • Great demonstration! Straight & to the point! Easy to follow! I've always wanted to learn the Tango! I have a book on dances to shows me, but it's hard to follow when you can't see the proper technic of the dances first!

  • please stop deluding people, that is ballroom dancing of a sort... not tango....please it's painful to watch!

  • the Star Ballroom dance studio

suuuuucks hahahaha they can't dance anything!

:S:S tango trance reggaetton omg so painful to watch! I agree

  • the Star Ballroom dance studio

suuuuucks hahahaha they can't dance anything!

:S:S tango trance reggaetton omg so painful to watch! I agree

  • I agree this is not Tango Argentino. Our family friends are Argentinos and they are professional tango dancers and its nothing like above.

  • Why would anyone want to dance ballroom tango or other ballroom dances? The posture is unnatural, and stiff. There is no connection, musicality, emotion, sensuality, sensitivity, spontaneity, improvisation and individuality. Viva Argentinian Tango and its beauty. It is life!!!

  • i saw this other video and the steps are completely different... it starts with the woman gowing forwards not backwards and it's a count of 8

  • that was the argentine tango. this video is about ballroom tango. they have nothing at all in common, except the name

  • Terrible!!!

  • Actually this is neither Argentine nor Ballroom Tango. I know and teach both and this video has no resemblances to any of these forms of dance. The Ballroom Tango has a very different technique and posture than the presented here.

This, I believe, is a form of Tango tough in the US which the basic consists in 5 steps as for the 5 letters of T.A.N.G.O. Is danced no where else.

  • Good tutorial video ;) more!!!:D

  • This video needs to be retitled, as BALLROOM Tango, which is NOT to be confused with Argentine Tango. There is a difference.

Furthermore the "Basic" here is NOT the Argentine Basic but rather the BALLROOM basic... In Argentine Tango, there is an 8 count basic, which is a misnomer to begin with. Anyone watching this would think that this is 'basic' step applies to tango, and they'd be wrong. It doesn't. It applies to BALLROOM Tango, *NOT* Argentine Tango.

  • Agreed. I saw this video on expertvillage and realised it was ballroom tango also.

  • Agree that this is American Ballroom rather than Argentine Tango. The Basic 8 in Argentine Tango is not a step but rather a teaching device.
