  • Lliberace is an awesome pianist, awesome. A great talent, a showman before Madonna and Elton John every existed. Do not let his flamboyant behavior lose sight of this grand technique if not executed exactly how you were taught now to do it, with arms leaping in the air, etc. But he never missed a beat. Great precision.

  • The Maestro of the Back Door Special, Liberace.............

  • Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

  • what aplayer he was brilliant love it mythras90x

  • Very nice melody...but it would be much better if Liberace's performance on the instrument be seen, too.

  • Damn but he was good!

  • They do say the only thing they couldn’t sell on the Antiques Roadshow was Liberaces piano stool, dirty bastard.

  • Haven't heard this for years but never forgot it,just thought let's look on youtube.

I was 7 when the film came out .There are lyrics,I remember the first 2 lines.

Olwen I hear you call to me at sunrise across a golden sea,or something like that.

    Thanks for posting.

  • His best performance of his repetoire is Dream of Olwen. H alos does a good Warsaw Concerto, Rachmaninov Fantasia, Chopin fantasia and Stella by Starlight too. His best album of classics was Liberace:Concert by Candlelight. The only thing is it is a pity the sound quality available now wasn't available then but it is still good nonetheless.

  • @TheGreatRichter

The second LP I ever bought - aged 14 in 1955 - was Liberace playe Concertos for you, which contained this track and others you mention. It was on the Phillips label.

  • My late husband used to play this piece for me. I was so delighted when a friend directed me here. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • what we are seeing on this vid is liberace as he was i liked him as a pianist since my days in college. he was a superb pianist w/ an impeccable taste in music & style. he was gay but that was too personal/ too private & should never to be considered as a point against him as an artist. he was as he was. he was great (so rich, lol) Elvis, too, was so rich... sad to say... both left all their riches behind and took nothing with them to their graves : ( so do we when we die.... THINK...
