Maybe I watched this movie when I was feeling down about family issues of my own, but it really affected me. It was just so clear to me how unconsciously messed up every body was. And how misunderstood people were. I never cry at a movie, but my wife was surprised how upset I was during this one. 24 hours later, I'm still in a daze, and want to be different and more understanding of everybody's struggle to get through life undamaged or not damage any one else.
Ezra Miller is a new and up coming actor, he is amazing in this film. I've seen it several times. This is his 6th movie and I was blown away by his performance plus the chemistry he had with Kate Bosworth was moving. Ezra and Ellen brought the movie to life. I honestly hope many more people see this film.
@jazleita the sound track haven't released yet, it was scored by very young but amazing icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds, it's his first time scoring for a movie. his already released several album, he is great!
It's a really good movie.it gives me an insight of my family and i feel more compassinate for my mom and my troubled younger brother.we've all somehow gone through depression and it reflects in us, in our personailities.
the Degradation of the American Family, yet some call it "brilliant," a "great movie"? This is an artistic middle finger to the Christian family values. As a Catholic i am staying away from this like first century royalty would to a leper at the city gates yelling "Unclean! Unclean!" Although Christ would go to the leper, so this analogy fails because no one can heal this movie, only avoid it at all costs... like a zombie!
@gluciani11 Thanks. Love, love, LOVE Ellen Barkin, Ellen Burstyn, Demi Moore, and Thomas Hayden Church. A-MAZING. And I collect film scores, so I'm ordering this soon enough! Thanks. Cannot WAIT to see it.
@europa599 i saw this at sundance and Ellen was truly Oscar worthyas well were most of the actors....the director said that the core was composed by a guy in Norway i believe for the film

Could someone tell me what they say in 0:28, 0:47 and 1:37? I'm not a native speaker and would appreciate some help here. Thanks!
elainequeirozzz 4 months ago
@elainequeirozzz
1) "Do you remember when he was twelve years old and Brandon pantsed him and he was wearing Lynn's pantyhose under his jeans?"
2) "I'm just trying to make sure Alice doesn't walk into an emotionally volatile atmosphere."
"It's a wedding, Lynn. Weddings aren't volatile."
3) "What don't you understand, you solipsistic f*uck?!"
Hope that helps!
