  • For future reference, the power should remain on the CRAC unit at all times and the unit shut-off via the control panel or placed in standby via the BMS (if this option is available). The exception to this is in the event of performing maintenance work on the CRAC. When this is the case, all water sources should also be shut-off to the unit.

  • Power was off to the CRAC therefore the condensate pump did not operate, allowing water to overflow the pump tank. The probable cause of the water overflow appears to be the water supply valve on the humidifier has jammed open which flooded the tank. The valve did not shut-off most likely due to debris in the supply line. If electrical power had been left on to the unit, the pump would have pumped the water out to an external drain and not flooded the data center.
