Nice minor-key calypso! Also interesting jazz-influenced backing band. Also has some tango influence. Great lyrics! As Louis Armstrong said, "the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice." Great record!

Indeed. I wonder why Wilmoth is not credited in the writers part of Bucovina Club at all. Out of copyright perhaps....
He's "thanked" but nowhere does it even imply the melody came from there.

it was sampled and twisted up for 'Wilmot' by 'Sabre's of Paradise' released in 1994 in the UK.
Shantel copied 'Sabre's of Paradise' version of the sample.
Youtube it, it's brilliant!
