  • wow some many songs that i thought were higher were lower and song i thought would be lower were higher.

  • The Wolf.

  • lmmjhhk

  • I was looking for the name of a song I barely remembered (#206). I knew it'd be somewhere in this list, thanks a lot.

  • Hey paulhallart02 your wrong dumbass gloria is a classic

  • @joSOFLYco y r u so listless

  • Jewish Rolling Stone magazine promotes Jewish "artists"

  • @zibimark so why don't you do an impartial Rolling Stone magazine?

  • #262 and #242 !!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • Paranoid Android being here, no Hallelujah in the top 100 and Bohemian Rhapsody not in the top 10 show how fucking retarded this list is.

  • @harrysonbreak Radiohead kicks ass you shit head

  • @harrysonbreak

Stop bitching because your favorite song didn't make it to the top ten.

Besides take the lyrics in Bohemian Rhapsody and compare them to anything Bob Dylan or The Beatles have ever written and it's shit. If any list that song should be #1 on it's the most overrated songs of all time.

  • Notable mentions in my opinion... #212 is a party anthem for eternity and Prince knows to get funky, so it should be somewhere in the top 40 (not exactly where though), #240 is solid gold and should be #14 (I mean, seriously RS, get a clue), #255 should be #6 (again, RS need to wash out their ears), #277 - Bowie is a god, but couldn't have Space Oddity been somewhere? #290 - to be fair, that's actually one of the few hip-hop songs that's actually good. I hate Eminem, but Stan's OK, I must admit.

  • if you dont know train in vain by the clash... go search it up and you will agree with me that it is the most under rated song of all time... definatley in my top 5

  • Eminem sucks and how is Gloria and sloop John b not top 200?!?!?!

  • @RocknRollisTheAnswer 4 1reason, Gloria was so boring it destroyed the minds of a whole generation. they were lobotomized though the ear.

  • Eminem the best ftw ^_^

  • Please accept this posting, "40 Years of History In 3 Minutes" which revisits key moments in history between 2011 and 1969 via reverse-motion / forward-motion clips in a music video cut tightly to The Beatles' GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Enjoy.

  • the only things on this list i think are too low are wish you were here and losing my religion...other wise its great!

  • WTF!!!!!!! eminem in this fucking list no man fuck that shit

  • type this into youtube and see what comes up "We Are All Neil Lennon (Lets Stand Up) NEW CELTIC SONG"

  • sexual healing 231 u gotta be kidding me..

  • wheres boney fingers?

  • NO PINK FLOYD WTF

  • @shaneshiv14 WTF madonna beats another brick in the wall????!!!!

  • Jeff Buckleys version of Hallelujah is amazing and should clearly be in the top 100 at the very least!

  • WHAT! No Pink Floyd in the third fucking video?! Jesus christ!

  • NICE EDITTING....BUT THE RS LIST IS PATCHY

  • 256.....nuff said.

  • The guy in the right hand corner of Radiohead looks like aston kutcher

  • this is all wrong.

  • gotta love that blondie album cover 2:29

  • No Metallica? I can think of 5 albums of songs that should be in the top 100...

  • Jewish magazine promotes Jewish artists

  • This classification sucks, nobody can say what is the greatest song of all times, that all exept rock'n roll... This list is not rock, it's bullshit because everyone will have a different list with, of course, Stairway To Heaven and Yesterday in the top ten ;).

  • i swear the prince photo looks like fez from that 70s show

  • WHAT THE FUCK?! NO METALLICA? FUCK THE ROLLING STONES MAGAZINE! THEY SUCK!

  • @N7Crazy lololololol implying metallica is music lololololololololololol

  • good music. that's for sure.

  • Planet rock made it to the top 100.....this list has a lot of songs in the wrong places. This is coming from someone who listens to HipHop

  • why isnt baba oreily on this yet it shoulda been top ten.

  • @battleblue3 It was in the 301-400 video not sure of the number.

  • black dog only 294?! wtf?! what happend to one of the best songs of the second best band in the whole f world?

  • MOTT THE HOOPLE, NOT MOOT!!!! JESUS CHRIST!

You're going to having to be much more thorough on your next videos. ;)

  • Obviously, the panel who decided on these belong's to the 60's generation! Well, to each his own! This is definitely not the list of everyone in the planet! Maybe some songs included but definitely NOT THE WHOLE LIST!

  • I don't agree this selection. I really think there are songs better then many songs appearing here. I would like to know the criteria, because of lot of themes from The Beattles and The beach boys. A shame!!!!

  • God I wish they still made songs as good as these. I'm not saying everything nowadays is bad, but being a 16 year old in the worlds worst decade of music isnt easy...

  • @LopanTheLemming I feel the same way, Its kinda weird to be the only guy in the school to listen music that came out in 60s.

  • @LopanTheLemming I think the MAINSTREAM music of the 1920-40s was far worse. The pop music of the 80s was pretty bad, too.

  • @LopanTheLemming

Remember when music was good? When Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson ruled the air? Now we have nothing but shit raining down on our heads, and most of the population is just screaming for more.

Noone in my class knows who Bruce Springsteen is. Noone can name the 4 beatles. Noone knows who Bob Dylan is.

    Dear God:

We will Trade you Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Rebecca Black, and Chris Brown if you make music what it used to be.

  • @LopanTheLemming I know, right.

  • Everybody knows this is a total remake of history. Look at who the judges are; musicians and media monopoly douche bags. They think that if a person can build a house they must be an architectural historian. This piece of garbage also makes the assumption that being famous makes your musical tastes infallible. For someone to judge a song they need to realize it's place in history and the original power it bestowed and there are Doctoral degrees in this. Instead they give us amateur or slanted BS

  • shame list !

  • No. 288 Money (That's what I want) by Barrett Strong and then on No.289 is Can't Buy Me Love by The Beatles. Lol

  • tks

  • Oh yeah, there's Sign 'O' the Times! My other favorites were Get up, stand up and Black Dog :)

  • what they need to do is hold a poll with top critics and one with the public. Then Rolling Stone's critics should narrow the top results from both polls into one list. Because when you let the music industry decide, Rihanna and those like her get on the list.

  • when they call a list "greatest songs of all time", they should include songs beyond that of the 20th century

  • @kleban10 actually, they just updated the issue and released it again with songs from the new millenium, the highest one of the 2000's is gnarls barkley single crazy at num.100

that song is way too high

  • @11joshman when i said beyond that, i meant music from the 19th and 18th century

  • @kleban10 haha whatever, i sended you the updated list and it's even more retarded than this one

  • 0.50 looks like a mug shot =P hehe

  • Rolling Stone definitely favors the Beatles and Bob Dylan. They're both great artists, but way overrepresented in this list. Just by going on the list, it seems like they're the best thing musically to happen to humanity ever

  • wat the heck this is all old stuff! Rollin Stone Mag shoulda @ least put in some new stuff... our generation teens have no clue what the heck soma the stuff up there is xcpt michael jackson, stevie wonder,U2, marvin gay, and the beatles. unless you've taken music appreciation @ skool like me or you've grown up w/ an adult who listens to the oldies than you know what is up there, otherwise ur clueless. and take note...half of the bands/singers are in the black and white days...hum really?

  • @sasukeluver345 maybe the younger generation should get to know some of these older artists. im young, & i saw some songs on this list i didn't know, i looked them up and ended up loving them!

  • @sasukeluver345 you should check out the rolling stone list of the greatest songs of 2000-2009. that would give you a better understanding of the kind of stuff rolling stone favors.

  • @sasukeluver345

Maybe that's why it's called the top 500 OF ALL TIMES.

I think it's a good list, but I would change the orde a little. Also this is a great way for 'our generation' to get to know some songs, look them up and learn to love them.

  • @sasukeluver345 and? eminem and adre 3000 were the only artist who had songs on the list after the year 2,000. any way this list was created by the industrie not just rolling stones mag. They had like every musician currently alive pick their fav. 500 songs. and this is what the averages came out to be, personaly i think every song from eminems first 3 albums are some of the greatest works ever, but you HAVE to show respect to the shit that was made before you were born. as i do.

  • @sasukeluver345 music today is worse than it has ever been . There are good bands, but a lot of them are left over from other decades. Besides young people today (I am one of them, but I like good music) have awful taste in music, whether it's bad rap (there is admittedly some good, but it's just not my thing, and most of the good is from other decades), techno/dance/electropop, death metal, emo/screamo, or just really lame pop. Get a clue, man.

  • № 250!

  • How freaking long did this entire list take you to make??!! Holy crap.

  • For the best new music see BIG LIST - first world "Top Forty" - list of 200 Plus, best favorites from myspace and youtube. Best music of this century.

  • Comment removed

  • not to critisize, but isnt there alot of the beatles and bob dylan?

  • @animeNARBLE

Too much beatles and bob dylan. I mean don't get me wrong, theyre music is great, but some of those songs shouldnt be in the list. I mean, Michael Jackson has only been mentioned twice in 1-300. Thats bull.

  • I'm sorry rolling stone, but when a Blondie song is higher than a Freakin' Neil Young song, Well that's judt f'ing retarted

  • 3 good song JESUS CRIEST

  • Rolling stone knows their classics! But if you´re a upcoming more alternative band it´ s much harder to get a good review than if you are f. eks U2 i think!

  • What?

Don't you like the Beatles dude?

    Let them sing more!

  • 294 shud be number 2, as number 1 has gotta be staiway to heaven of course :D

  • there not in order of goodnes

  • Fuck ya!

  • Nice vid! Think it would have been kooler to do 300 down to 201! Still good though!

    Xxx

  • gimme some lovin!

  • He Stop Loving Her Today is the best!

  • I think Walk this way by Aerosmith was better

  • @TerribleCinema i am surprised that they didn't use Aerosmith's version.

  • i bet it takes a while to make these

  • Glad to see another post :)
