You can say what you will about Chris Barnes, but believe me when I say there are very few people that are not professionals that could be him in a one-on-one match. These people who bowl professionally are the best at what they do and I have the utmost respect for what they do.
Wow,does anyone have anything nice to say.Chris barnes did choke, but put youself in your self in his shoes there is so much on the line,I would be shaken up too.And Kelly is beautiful, and both of the are amazing bowlers.I am sorry, but I don't think any of you should be commenting about what they did wornge when I bet half of you can't even close to what they can do.

This is why nobody takes bowling seriously. letting women compete on the mens tour is o fucking stupid. why do women always have to prove something. they should just stay home and cook and suck their husbands dicks. they shouldnt bowl or do anything competitive because they already have the gift of giving life to us human beings. what else do they need? @that guy who said kelly kulick you must like men or be mentally retarded because she looks like steve martin With that pointy nose.
@BzupCKCrabKilla It's a PBA tour, not a Men's PBA tour. Just because she is better than alot of men, doesn't mean you have to be sexist. This is 2010, not 1910. Learn some respect.
While I was watching this match, a song lyric kept spinning around in my head, "I gotta little feelin' goin here!!, except replace "Kelly's" for "I", take on the unbelievable finale of "Screwdriver" by the White Stripes.
20 Alphabet - Dude - Kulick bowled 267 with an pocket 7-10. Don't think anyone would have beat her that day (and I was there). The way Barnes typically bowls in a title match - I don't think the PBA had to put up extra funds for him to get beat. You saying the PBA paid Barnes to miss the 10-pin against Haugen when he lost after a 53 pin lead in the 6th?
for all of u guy that think that barnes threw this game u need to pull ur heads out of ur ass this girl whipped the men all week and she did it again on sunday period. mark my words u will see her again in the next 2 years
Go watch one of the matches that Chris lost on TV recently and watch how many times he 'adjusts' to leave a one pin spare. Why is it that when he does the same thing he's done time and time again over his career against Kelly he "threw the game". You're acting like he just decided not to strike on every shot he didn't. Sorry, but the man cannot bowl a 300 on PBA conditions any time he feels like it. He missed those shots because he isn't perfect, not because he did it intentionally.
This was a fix designed to bolster women in professional bowling... something that has never drawn crowds. Look at Barnes' shots: want a ten-pin? extra speed; want a sure-leave? ease up and dive into the nose. A very obvious, Ballard-like effort to create history and develop a market that's as interesting as women's basketball or women's golf.
@cbaldwinjr: Anyone win eyes can see it. At this point in bowling history COSMIC BOWLERS are where the game is going, and the USBC, Brunswick, and the almost defunct PBA are all desperate to save the regular market and stimulate another. This was nothing more than a stunt with poor acting ability.

so you're saying if you bowled 3 days of 30 games+ you would throw it all away for a stunt to revive bowling rather than taking the chance to win the title and 100k? because i doubt any pro bowler would agree to that just to make a stunt.
Gamerboy, while you were still single-digit age Del Ballard threw a title and now enjoys Hall of Fame status he didn't earn and was even placed higher than Barry Asher and Bob Strampe.(names that are undoubtedly unfamiliar to you) on the PBA 50 Greatest bogus list. Ballard was back-filled for the difference and I'm certain Barnes was promised future compensation. Politics runs the PBA now as then. This was a stunt.
Listen to the commentary by Bo Burton prior to the occurrence. He knew what was about to happen. All the buzz in the pro circles back then was what could be worth throwing the title, just to please Pete's father? Everyone knew it even then, but didn't make any noise to avoid the wrath of Dick Weber. Not until a few years later did the word get out that Dick had assured Mr. Ballard of historical note and Hall of Fame immortality as well as back-fill the difference monetarily.
You can eat what you like, but do some research on the subject in the meantime. There are still plenty of 60+ year old former PBA guys that could write a book on the things the USBC, Brunswick and the PBA has done for publicity, historical notoriety, and to supercharge bowling ball and accessory sales as well as league memberships.

i already know you're stereotypical about all gamers being fat, (look at john wendel) so i'm not gunna bother to think up a new response. no point in trying to make a hole in your thick head.
I agree that the PBA has strived to keep interest in bowling up, but not by means of fraud. Every sport and franchise does this... It's something we Americans learn in 11th grade economics class, and I'd suggest you keep your "research" remarks to yourself, because if there's one person who has looked at this match up and down, backwards and forwards, it's me.

I think the one thing you're forgetting is that Kelly legitimately rolled a 265 game against Barnes. If my math is right, there are 36 possible scores that can beat that and 265 that could lose to it. Logic says that she was likely to win. Also, if the PBA really wanted her to win, they'd have had someone sitting back on top of the pin deck ready to trip out either the 7 or the 10 in the 7-10 split she left in the 5th with a crowbar.
Chris Schenkel is rolling over in his grave for a few reasons, one of which is Rob Stone's commentary on this match. He's so horrible and the main reason why I stopped watching the PBA on ESPN.
Barnes seems to get very little backend hook here. Perhaps a wrong ball or oil pattern...

@UltimateWWEPro maybe....but w/ less hand / softer release + slower speed he'd of been fine.
