I've listened to quite a bit of Bon Iver, and find them interesting. I can enjoy them in small doses. Much of their music is very good for calming internal emotional storms and aiding concentration. There is a quite a bit of creativity in their music and vocal harmonies that seems to tap directly into human emotions and subconscious. However, it does get old after a couple of songs in a row. The songs are very similar sounding, and the vocals aren't the greatest in terms of range.

@bigmuffmama Actually this album was written in a log cabin while he was bed ridden from mononucleosis. To me, being on the verge of death would be quite a humbling experience. That's probably the sound you're detecting. Yet before you judge something, you should know where the artist is coming from. I don't understand how people feel so justified to say, "This sucks" or "That sucks." It's an expression, there is no right or wrong. But we're all (potentially) adults here, you deserve an opinion.

Why is everyone with a diverse music taste considered a hipster? Sure, I like Bon Iver, I like a lot of indie music and bands that aren't that popular.
