you'll never reach higher notes after a while because your flute loosens, nickle plated flutes cannot withstand pressure up to high notes. Silver Plated are traditional and can endure up to very high octives.
Please people, don't get colored flutes. The paint comes off very quickly, the tone quality is horrendous, and they're made of cheap, easy-to-break metal.
Colored instruments are often mass produced in China and are of low quality. Yes, they look beauifl but their tone falls very short to that as of a traditional silver plated flute. I tought one girl who bought a blue and gold one for marching band as t was our school's colors at the time and she used it for conert band. with any moisture that dripped off ame the color as well as rubbing off on her lip and her fingers. The body also warped after a year and it stopped working. Save your money

alright it's a nice looking flute and all BUT the sound of those flutes are so bad, they are quite crappy.... and i think ur a good flute player but you might need to get a silver plated one with a silver head joint for that projecting sound... :D good luck

I'm not trying to be biased, but really you should one that is a precious metal like silver, or gold. Some really nice sounds come out of flutes that are silver plated with a silver head...I have a silver plate with a silver head open hole off set Yamaha and it is fabulous, and worth the hard work in the beginning
@StaceyR321 Please be careful who you take advice from. These flute do NOT play better. I hope the you were able to purchase your daughter a name brand flute. These colored flutes are poorly constructed and are made in China. You would be much better off with a Yamaha or other name brand.

She says that she is just learning how to play the flute so its going to take her some time and if you haven't played a flute yet you wouldn't understand... Because I play the flute also... It will take awhile I have been playing flute for almost 6 years now and im first chair too... But just to let you know you are going to have to step your game up because there is some else who might want your spot so keep practicing and good luck

You might want to be careful...like other people have said, the metal used is not very durable. But worse, I read somewhere that the materials used are not sanitary at least and can be even poisonous. I can't find the article now but just a word of precaution.
these flutes are made in china and are almost certainly made from pot metal which is extrememly soft and easily damaged. If you take it to a repair tech they probably won't even touch it because the keys will likely just snap off and would be more money to repair than it was to make it! Do yourself a favour...thank your Dad for the effort but ask for a real flute next time and try it out first....try as many as you can BEFORE you buy it!

u idiot! the flutes are made in china! these flutes are crap and companies can order them and put their name on it and say its from somewhere else when its actually from china. and i agree with flutepicckat get a better one and it doesn't matter if u r 1st chair i bet u hardly ever practice it so that's y its still working. i've been playing flute and piccolo for over 5 years i should know wats good and wat sucks

ok, first u say u were just learning flute in 1 of ur comments, if tht is true, then how did u now F-g trill and how to play a high F? So, a person who knows tht wouls have to hav been playin at least a year, and there no excuse for having a bad sound. so, fix ur sound and post another video!! I would never ever recommend purchasing a colored instrument for two reasons:
They more than likely are absolute shit in terms of musicality...
You sacrifice quality of the instrument for more eye pleasing colors.
