Hey all, ive never built a model in my life, but im going to get into them, and i love the p51. I was wondering if this is a good starter kit, or if it was a bit more advanced?
@Pece17 normally I try and paint the parts before I assemble them when ever possible. If a larger part like a wing or something I may wait till the end to spray it all at the same time so I can get a better match with the paint. it was the second model I have ever built, and it was bad i still remember it as far as bad of a modeller I was back then it was a terrible model kit, I mean my first model was far better! (revell ME262)
@terminator363 Its actually not that new. It's been around for quite sometime. It actually can be made into a decent model, albeit with a lot of work.
That's a very nice Mustang.. I have built the same kit, I like the touch of the machine guns in the wing! I have another one to do, which I was going to build as a Swedish J26 Mustang.. but then I found some decals on an Americam website, with a Mustang from Wormingford, an old WWII airfield within cycling distance from where I live.. so that's the one I will build instead now!! Am I right in thinking you have a Wormingford Mustang on that decal sheet as well?? I may be wrong.. :)
Very good job,, i just got my p51 kit from revell, i' m going to start building it tomorrow.

@selfmadeboys88 the 1:48 revell p51 mustang was actually my first kit, and i theink it is a fine kit for beginners.

i built this with my brother, too bad i accidentally didnt join the wing root properly and then it popped out and set the wrong way over night

do you paint those 2 body parts separated and after that glue them. Or do you glue them first and then paint? I have a Brewster model.
