The highest rated era in wrestling was after McMahon bought WCW and everyone was watching RAW. WWE got a 7.3 one monday night after they bought WCW. And if you don't believe me you can find the ratings chart online of the entire Monday Night Wars. I was surprised myself when I saw how low the ratings actually were.
WCW pulled in the high 4s and low 5s in 1997-1998 or WCW. I know McMahon's eventually went higher but WCW was already tanking horribly by that time due to Bischoff beng gone.
@UWRofficial The ratings are a percentage of viewers tuned into televisions at that time. A 3.0 now is different from a 3.0 ten years ago. WWF Raw used to get 10 million viewers in 2000. (6.0 rating) Now they get slightly less than half that and it's a 3-4.
@Astbruchgefahr You got it backwards. a 6.0 rating back then would equate to less viewership due to less TV's being in homes and less amounts of Nielsen boxes. a 6 back then would around 6.5-7 million viewers. Where-as a 5 today would equate to about the same amount of viewership (which is why even though Raw garners low 3's, they still manage to have 4.8-5 million + viewers weekly).

flair i can kind of see but sting savage and goldberg were all main event players hell goldberg and sting made their name known in that time . They have to pay royalties everytime they air it, so they choose not too. It sucks, I know, that's why it's better to track down the original broadcasts and add them to your collection.

The closest thing to wcw is going to be TNA wrestling on monday january 4 2010 when Hogan debuts!!! 8pm-11pm 3 hr special live on spike t.v their going head to head with monday night raw.

The only thing that i will always hate about WCW is the commentators always saying "The match of the century, the match of a lifetime" give me a break.
When I went to see Nitro in Houston we threw so much trash it was funny. Then I went to raw and we were almost kicked out I was so mad.
At least Hollywood was an awesome heel.

Hogan is the elvis of wrestling, there will be no one else who even comes close to him in stature...
Hogan was by far the best wrestler; technically he wasnt great but his showmanship and his charcter make flair look like shit (both baby face and heel).
If you ask a person who doesnt follow wrestling 99% of them will know Hogan; where as in Falir not many.
that is the dirrence between both of them..

You got trash thrown at him from start to finish in that promo....can you believe that? The biggest face ever? I think that shows just how epic he was as a heel. Best face AND heel ever by far.

Hogan turning heel was the turning point in wrestling as we know it! And no one else could have pulled it off but Hogan because, like it or not, he is pro wrestling, anyone that grew up watching wwf in the 80's was a Hogan fan, I don't care what you say, everyone was a Hogan fan, thats why him turning heel was such a big moment, because you had the people that hated him for it aka the people throwing trash, and the people that went with the NWO, it made people cheer the anti hero.

flair i can kind of see but sting savage and goldberg were all main event players hell goldberg and sting made their name known in that time . Goldberg even beat hogan i might be able to understand luger and flair . But if anything it was nash who was responsible for goldberg eventually being held down . But still the nwo was a great angle wich kept wcw running and beating the wwf for a few years .

Dont get me wrong the nWo was a genius angle but hogan was in the mainstream wrestling main event scene longer than all of them and he still refused to give up the spot...the only thing that mattered to hogan was that the title be placed around his waist at all times...look at BATB 2000...he still took the title even though he knew it was wrong...
