Well, weed has been illegal for a fairly long time now, and it was illegalized in the first place because they discovered that since it was cheaper and faster to produce, it could take over the paper industries, so some people in the government didn't like the idea, so they made it illegal...
Now is not as easy to illegalize substances that are coming out, being investigated or discovered, now they need a rason and people to vote on it
Since weed is already illegal, they just keep it that way!

@BIGchill57 No theres a chemical called salvinorin A in it that causes you to trip and have distorted perceptions for 5-20 minutes depending on how much and what type you smoke. People compare it to LSD, while it makes you trip as well its very different and seems to put you more out of it than LSD, but it also only lasts a few minutes, in my book if either on is used responsibly then neither one is going to cause much damage to anything.
