My mom loved this song, she lost her brother of 19 to ww11. Then she became the matriarc of the family and the two of us watched as one by one the oldest generation left us. But now we are a family that has grown to over 30 and its always christmas at grandmas. I lost my mom 1 year ago today and I'm afraid its no longer christmas at grandmas. Somewhere else I'm sure but never the same. Miss you mom
@midwestboy11 I lost my dad 7 years ago and he always sat at our xmas table but every year instead we share so many memories of him. It isn't the same but somehow you get through it, I hope you have a very good xmas
@tammarnie Thanks for your reply Its just incredible how we get through time after the passing of our gaurdians. The traditions I held close for 50 years seemed lost but I find myself still doing them yet like you say they are some how different. I lost both parents now but yet they seem to be part of my life.
