Can't decide if 1984 or Savage is my favorite Eurythmics album.

I just know that I miss Dave and Annie together so badly that sometimes I swear it hurts .

I love them both , but together-Eurythmics- are part of my soul.

its funny how when some artists release a really great song or album, most of the time they can't beat it with another. i bet after the release of Sweet Dreams, people wondered if the Eurythmics could make another masterpiece like that, and they clearly did with Savage :)

WOW! SAVAGE is an amazing album. As many others have said, Annie is the greatest female vocalist of all time. I remember fondly in my youth (the 80's) being a loyal member of the D & A fan club and loving everything Eurythmics! D&A forever.

At the end there where she's completely fallen to pieces and you see a guy approaching from the shadows it's almost a re-enactment of the paragraph from Orwell's 1984 where Winston says "I did it just the same".

Savage is a wonderful album, although my second favourite (lost to Be Yourself Tonight), that's was what Eurythmics were in the past and what I really liked them so much. Unfortunatelly the critics on that time didn't liked it, but how the album is perfect with the great tunes: Beethoven, Shame, Savage, I Need A Man, You Have Placed a Chill In My Heart....

in re of wickedwetcat's comment: i think annie lennox's great in everything. it's just a metter of what we prefer to see her in or see her as. she's offered something for everyone and that makes her truly great and unforgettable. this clip, besides, is now taken from the whole savage context which had a particular concept in mind. it fits perfect with the whole album and the rest of the videos. that's sophiemuller-annielennox craft at their best.

I think all of their albums have their own distinct styles and have something great in all of them, that was always the beauty of Eurythmics, I love all of their albums for different reasons. Savage is one of my favorites because they went back to their original style but updated and matured it even further. I love the Savage videos even more, one of the best compilations ever made, IMO.

Be yourself tonight is probably there best album Revenge was like BYTNtwo and as a result was a disappointment Julia from 1984 is a contender for there best song, Savage seemed to be a reaction to the commercialisation of BYTN,

It has some interesting tracks , but I wouldnt call it there best album.

I do not agree with you at all. I have perhaps listened to the song Julia once. Its is no way as good as other albums. I have just checked the record list on wikipedia - there are some grat songs on both the Revenge album and Be With You Tonight Album. I dont know which is best......but the I have read that the Savage album is the one D A Stuart and A Lennox are most proud of.....I love it because there is not another album like it in the world.....Live forever The Savage Album...

Absolutely! I wonder how we can pressure RCA to put out a DVD. Nobody does this kind of concept album anymore, and it's such a priceless gem. One of the most creative things they ever did, and the beginning of Annie's amazing collaboration with Sophie Mueller.

Doesn't it seem like the real hard-core Eurythmcis fans always cite Savage as their favorite album? That's no accident.

I'm hoping at least one of them will eventually try to resurrect the DVD idea, as we fans so deserve it.

Savage is my fav album too...it has the great title track (which seems to me going into the direction of Dave's later solo work) and the fantastic "You have placed a chill in my heart" and "Shame". Great stuff!!

Savage video collection should be released on DVD IMO, maybe in a 2-fer with We Two Are One Too. So many good videos out there that aren't on Greatest Hits. Plus, Savage is my favorite Annie/Eurythmics era.
