Edward Teller was not at the Ivy Mike Shot. He was in the US doing an experiment at the time. He did shine a spot of light on a wall to see if it would move from the shock of the detenation.

People think Edward Teller is a brilliant man. I dont. I think anyone who would want to dream up a weapon this powerful has more than a few screws loose. If it is possible to be incredibly brilliant and totally insane at the same time. Edward Teller fulfills both.
Friends with Mr Teller hm?. That kind of makes you sound like you rather enjoy these weapons or that you have something to look forward to down the road.
yes we are friends, we grew up together and then one day he deciced to go learn how to destroy the world, never seen him since.
And I do enjoy these weapons, they are the things that has kept the world at peace and without another world war for the past 60 years.
If it wasn't for this, USSR and NATO would probably have had a war by the end of WW2. Then many other small wars would have been created. Today the human population would probably be no more then 2 billion.
Enjoy these weapons?? My God. Yes its such a lovely day to be vaporized lets all have a pic nick and set off some thermonuclear warheads.
Yeah and both sides would look like a glowing green parking lot with all the fat cat politicos hiding in bunkers saying... "boy we sure showed them didn't we". I just love how its oh so wrong for any other nation to have "the bomb" but its no problem what so ever for the good ol USA to. The hypocrisy makes me puke.
ok umm retard. if you have not noticed thermal nuclear weapons have been a live for the past 60 years. Two of the most "war loving" countries (USA, USSR) had them and they never used them. Yes US did use it in Japan, but that is a whole diffrent story and side to this subject.
Do you know how many wars there would have been and how many dead without these weapons? If we didn't have them the technology we have to today with conventional weapons would have wiped out the earth.
you are so blind to seeing the other side to this. You are one of those people who go straight to the subject without seeing the drawbacks or what other things could happen.
I gurentee you without nuclear weapons today's Europe would most lickley be filled with landmines and artillery creators. 12 year olds walking around with machine guns hoping they survive the day without a bomb landing on them. You know why?
because there is no weapon to make people resist to stop killing.
MAD Mutually assured destruction.. Yeah yeah i wrote a paper on it. I just find it sad such a total annihilation of a weapon exists. There is no policy or ideal worth a 10 megaton hydrogen bomb NONE!! Your no longer talking about policy or ideals your talking about simple surviving to live on the planet. For what?? A baked glowing parking lot for 40 miles in every direction??. Good times!!
policy and ideals? we were never even talking about policy or ideals, you were talking about how bad these weapons are and I was talking about how good they make the world.
You already know I am right, the only reason you keep arguing with me is because you don't want to look like a idiot infront of me so you have to keep coming up with something to defend your opinion.
I find your ideaolgy really stupid and without any logic. You make it sound like there has been a nuclear war before...
and I take it your one of those " I go to peace rally's and try to call out to the government to tell the story of how evil war and these bombs are even though they never really care about what I think because I am nothing to them"?

Kind of defeats the point of a documentary when you cover the narration with cruddy music. Why not just cut to the big explosion at the end?

Exactly! That's what all want to see is the big explosion at the end!

Or leave the narration?
