  • Yes, it should be abolished everywhere! If people don't agree with me, then fuck you all!

  • Isn´t it strange to you, that over here in the european union, we don´t have capital punishment and still we have less murders though having more people living here.

The US-society is a society based on violence and fear not freedom and fairness like they pretend to be.

  • As far as rehabilitation, capital punishment has a one hundred percent success rate. No murderer has ever killed again after being executed. How effective is that?

  • No, Capital Punishment should not be abolished....KILL ALL THE MOTHER FUCKERS!

  • People who oppose the death penalty are a bunch of lame ass spineless imbeciles. Many of these losers get out and commit the same terrible crimes again. Our justice system is a joke. We need to go back to the good old days of pubic hangings, castration and torture. Heck going to prison is like winning the lottery to these guys. Good food, state of the art gyms, rooms with TV's/computers, access to higher education. BULLSHIT!!!

  • Emotional response.

  • No not emotional...but rather rational. With lethal injection there is no pain compared to a life of inprisonment. Within prison you are subjected to life of pain...both psychological and physical...and we tax payers are paying 60,000 a year to inflict this lifetime of misery on these individuals. If you have any rational intelligence you will clearly see that lethal injection is much more humane compared to a life sentence in prison. Period!

  • Emotional or not, Nimbo is absolutely correct...ffairlame is one of those lame ass imbeciles you were speaking about

  • you're right, capital punishment works, that's why the us has the lowest crime rate in the western world, less murders than europe or japan and a spectacular record in human rights, right? look, some people want to live in a civilized place where the state doesn't have the power to take your life, others, like you and nimbostratus, want to live in middle-age europe or taliban afghanistan, where they hang, draw and quarter murderers. it's a democracy, they're entitled to their opinion.

  • mexico doesn't even put people to death america has got to wake up.

  • Well why should America idolise Mexicos society when America's is more sucsessful?

  • What I'm saying is mexico amoung many other civilized countries do not kill people anymore. look it up the only ones that do are the middle east and africa very poor undemocractic regions.

  • Yeah, your right...Lets spare the lives of rapists, child killers and 1st degree murderers..and make there time in prison make confortable for them....idiots!

  • Life in prison with its daily exposure to rape, brutality and confinement is not only truly cruel, but it is also very unusual punishment. The gentle, sterile injection of lethal drugs is the merciful, easy way out.

  • i agree, i also think that a gentle sterile injection of lethal drugs would be the merciful way out for the poor unfortunate individuals that don't have the gift of a brain and yet can go around in the internet leaving idiotic homicidal comments. it's cruel to let those people lead this life, and is an unusual punishment for those around them to have to listen to their fascist opinions.

i agree planetfall, now lead the way, put your needle where your mouth is, believe me, is the easy way out...

  • you disagree then? confining a human to complete imprisonment and a daily routine of brutality is not cruel or unusual in your eyes? thats very telling. i beleive that point of view has more in common with well known fascists, dont you think?

  • no i don't.those are two very different things. jail doesn't HAVE to be brutal and cruel- i hear it is in the us, but in most western countries it isn't. brutality, rapes, homicides and beatings are not a necessary part of jail, in most countries those things don't happen. is not pleasant, of course, but society has to protect itself and this is the way to do it with the minimum possible damage for individuals. and fascists have always been pro death penalty, who are you referring to?

  • death is by any standard much worse than jail. i don't know what goes on in american jails, but it doesn't affect my argument, it's up to you to make it a place where basic human rights are respected. if you can't it doesn't mean you should kill them to end their suffering, just means you have to fix that problem. the basis of fascism is that the nation-state is above individuals, and what matter is the good of the state. that's why they are for the death penalty-to save money and instill fear

  • Solution: The Guillotine!

  • nadie tiene derecho a matar a alguien solo Dios puede quitar la vida de las personas

  • Your video does not grasp reality. You have no rights, I have no rights. Being Americans we have privalege ours can be taken away for not being mature enough to handle them. As such because there is no such thing as human rights the death penalty can violate anybodys so called human rights. a Murder, rapists, terrorist etc is to imature to have the privalge of life thus it needs to be taken away

  • The problem with the law is the current interpretation of "cruel and unusual". When most courts halt executions they say that that they are not banning the fundamental principle of death. They are just saying the method of execution is "Cruel and unusual", so states create new legislations everytime the old one is ruled unconstitutional, and the practise continues.

  • This is also a culture problem. We can speak in terms of animal rights in America. When someone tortures animals, its a crime and people frown upon animal cruelty. But when people kill animals with minimum suffering inflicted, average ppl that would have frowned on animal cruelty would not have cared.

  • wo - slow down - it's hard to read as a lot of the text is white on white. Please redo this at a slower pace.

  • Murder is the only crime you can be sentenced to die for these days. In my view the best legal argument against the death penalty is that it violates the cruel and unusual punishment ban in the 8th Amendment. Death is only the sentence in very rare cases and has a lot to do with publicity, race, etc.. Unusual at the very least.

  • it goes too fast

  • Excellent!
