  • TOTALY FLUFF

  • PISS... SPRAY MODE!

  • It's a myth that owls are intelligent, in fact, their intelligence falls on the "lower range" of bird intelligence.

  • Comment removed

  • @Myrdhale Let's them be smart enough to form bonds with people too I believe. One of my favorite creatures. :D

  • where's the soap?

  • Nothing to see here, just watering the owl

  • Such a beautiful bird. He reminds me of my cat, for some reason. :)

  • Owls are extremely intelligent. If he didn't like the water, he would get the hell away from it... And cast some kind of magic spell on the person spraying him....

  • @MPSecare Explains my new tail and funny ears :/

  • @MrRelhed I came to this video because of the article in the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday. Apparently there is an invasion of them around lake Michigan this winter :3.

  • @FPSMYLIFE There have been quite a few here in the Seattle area too,in fact we just got another one here at the center

  • @MrRelhed They say the migration south has to do with global warming and scarce prey in the north or something.

  • Just...Watering the owl

  • @oOOoLittleMissFuzzy is that what you call it these days. weh heh heh

  • lol, hes so unamused, i love how he keeps his composure the entire time

  • I think he is a lovely bird, and what you do is a great service, where are you located, and is the public allowed to go, raptors and predatory birds are my favorites

  • It's stupid that people are criticizing you when it's clear that Blizzard isn't being harmed. If he/she was, why on Earth would he/she keep standing there? He/she must really like it :)

  • i saw one fying over my car looking for mice which cross the roads...it was on monday... in minus 12 celcius its rare in iceland and i dont think your owl loves it in your cage at probably plus 28 celcius and calling a splash a welcome relieve is just wrong. i am a hunter but the nature of owls are supreme to most animals its a hunter so treat it with respect

  • @TheChubacapra All our raptors have bathing pools , I was cleaning flights (washing down with the hose) that day and Blizzard always runs toward the stream . We have them in our area from time to time , but it is rare. I take my position here at the rescue center very seriously and am responsible for more than just Blizzard,I assure you that I respect these animals more than you know. I welcome any and all questions , but please don't make assumptions based on a 1min vid- Thanks

  • @MrRelhed Im sorry if i was harsh, i had the privilege of nursing an short eared owl for a month this fall which i found hurt in the wild, and it made a huge impact on my respect for these creatures. good job and i made the comment in a flash which i regret good luck... amazing arent they !!!

  • @TheChubacapra I'll tell you , Hawks were my first love - then I started working with Owls and like you say - amazing, magnificent creatures !

Don't sweat it , I have made hasty remarks in the past as well. It takes a certain kind of person to come back and make good - I respect you for that. As it was , I wasn't really bent-I know it's hard to know what is going on with such limited information

  • hmm i remember that scene from some jail movie i've seen...

  • @2mnyshp Ha ! I think I saw the same movie !

  • Haha, is it just me or is Blizzard actually turning around for you to spray the parts you missed?

  • bless for you for caring for these amazing and rare creature

  • Shower like a boss

  • thats a shower not a bath

  • lol that nigga looks chilled!

  • He looks like a pokemon when he's wet lol

  • just have to admire those huge feet... wow! What an amazing owl!

  • @AZPadawanGirl

Those are huge feet ! Strong too .

  • i tried bathing my guinea pig like that just getting a water hose and squirting water at him ..but he died

  • @MrArielbenitez Poor thing LOL . I'm actually cleaning his flight here but he likes playing in the water - he has a tub for baths

  • @MrRelhed oh i was kidding bout the guinea pig

  • @MrArielbenitez .....who the fuck does that.... sierously...hes too small..did he die of drowning, or the pressure?

  • I'm kinda jealous, these are my favourite species of owl.

  • @twilightdivamidna Mine too! Although the Great Horned comes in a close second . Sorry for the eye poke - was watching through the camera while petting :)

  • @MrRelhed Eye poke?

  • @twilightdivamidna Sorry , I think I may have confused you with someone who commented on my other vid (I accidentally rubbed Blizzards eye while petting him )

  • @MrRelhed Ooh, no, you are correct. But I deleted that comment though when I read your replies to others- who commented rudely.

  • @twilightdivamidna No harm :)

  • Nice just like in Guantanamo Bay.

How did you get the bird?

  • @danthefrst LOL the pressure really wasn't that much , the camera isn't really meant for video (field and depth is way off - very deceiving) Blizzard is a rescue - someone found him on the side of the road kinda mangled

  • @MrRelhed So the bird was damaged for life, and will die if let free?

  • @danthefrst Yes , since he's blind in one eye and can't fly he'd either be lunch for somebody or die of some sickness (a grounded bird will pick up all sorts of bugs and parasites)

  • @MrRelhed If so, thumbs up and great job man! :)

  • it puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again!

  • @HxCn00b666 Seriously LMAO !

  • bazdmeg de ne a szemét no eyes!!!!!!!

  • Do you let him in your house? Just wondering. I like your videos by the way!

  • @slicks105 LOL imagine the Tasmanian Devil :) He comes in for checkups and that's it . Arctic owls are very strong and also very clumsy (on the ground) so there would be nothing left of your home . He resides at the rescue center where I work , so he's not actually "mine" - I am his primary handler tho

    Thanks slicks

  • LOL! this is the "justwateringmyowl.jpg" Brilliant.

  • jomill78, try learning to spell and use proper grammar before you call someone else a "tard". @MrRelhed, love the vids. Keep them coming.

  • @notcheight74 Thank you ! I have some in the works

  • why do you still have your palm in his eye... are you retarded ..can you not see your are slowing the prosess down by keeping your palm in it's eye...some one ot to slap you for being such a tard....god I can just see already what your kids are like....I bet they hate you

  • @jomill78 I am laughing right now :D You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about . I have made exceptional progress with Blizz- furthermore,he loves having his eyes rubbed(he puts his head in my palm). You are very rude and extremely ignorant -where is your training and experience?

  • @jomill78 dont come here to act professional and stuffs and come scolding people retard. and obviously if kids gonna be like their father , ur kids gonna be crap. so quit talking about people , im sure their kids gonna be better than urs.

  • @jomill78 Hah, you're such a flaming idiot! Keep going!

  • @Mazryonh Right now we are in the "get to know you" stage , so we do everything together . Blizzard actually enjoys stomping through the little puddles :) Trying to get him used to all the interaction - In one short month he's gone from dashing about and hissing when I enter to learning to "step up" , being held , bathed and fed on my arm , mess'n with his feet etc .

To behonest , I have no idea what they do in the winter -

  • Most other raptor rehabilitators just a large but shallow container of water for big birds to bathe in. Is it more convenient for you to spray them instead? And how do Snowy Owls get clean in the snowbound winter?
