@DaisOfDestruction while in no way cheesy or epic in an 80's way, Bohren and Der Klub of Gore is an awesome mellow version of this kind of vibe.

@sedlbob check out the album DAVID SANBORN put out that same year (1987) it has exactly this sound. also alot of movie soundtracks (eg BLACK RAIN) of the late 80s early 90s have that kind of sound

@sedlbob in the movie boyz in the hood, there is a scene about 10 or 15 minutes in where there is a breakin and the ambient soundtrack is very similar with the saxaphone and lots of reverb
