  • Another brilliant tutorial. What a great channel!

  • So, I just wanted to ask about the use of slippery elm... may I ask the source? I knew your herbs are organic and often ethically harvested... so I'm just curious, as Slippery Elm is an endangered species. I always use Althea root instead.

  • So sad! I tried this, left them out to dry, and they got all fuzzy!! Maybe it was too cold in my house. Should I try drying them on low in the oven?

  • I can not understand what is this for? sorry I am not american and I do not know, could somebody tell me please?

  • @kassummi if you get ill in the winter and you have pain in your throat you will keep these in your mouth and they make your throat feel better.

  • I hear Slippery Elm can only be harvested by killing the tree.

  • How long are these Lozenges shelve life?

  • i made these about a month or so ago. recently i developed a sore throat from my allergies/sinus drainage. well this knocked it right on out within a day or two. i even dropped two of my lozenges into hot water for a tea.

  • is there something in equality to the licorice that can be used instead?? the taste of licorice makes me gag :(

  • What I love about all of these recipe-type-things is that there's no dosage! You don't have to worry about overdosing on cough syrup, or ending up even sicker because you took too many lozenges in one hour! (:

  • @ChryssiRose Liqorice is one of those herbs you have to be careful about not taking too much of, as it can cause hypertension among other imbalances, but I read slippery elm can be eaten in large quantities like a food.

  • gosh that dough looks really dry already!!

  • can i buy the licorice root slices and just cut them up because i cant fins the cut and sifted?

  • @skull8998 Yes, that should work. Just try to slice them up as fine as possible. Mountain Rose Herbs sells cut & sifted, but it's listed as just "Licorice Root" on the website. Many thanks! ~Erin

  • How many drops of essential oil would you recommend adding to this recipe?

  • HI!

I was wondering would you be able to make a licorice sort of treat by using licorice root powder and replacing the honey (2 tbsp) for stevia (approx 5 tablets)? Then just add more water to substitute the liquid lost?

I just have a really big craving for licorice and I havent been able to eat it for a very long time due to my insulin resistance. K thanks :)

  • could you use agave or maple syrup we are vegans ? :)

  • couldnt u just roll them into small balls instead of making lozenges? would fit nicely in altoid tins too :)

  • how do you make your own powdered herbs? do you just grind them into powder?

  • @katelynislegend ....try putting your herb or herbs into a coffee grinder

  • I have been wanting a good recipe for these, thanks for sharing!

  • are there any alternatives to the elm bark powder cause i have been looking and cant find it anywhere

  • @TheMrHarryShow duh... moubtain rose herbs of course!!!!!!

  • Could we put them in a dehydrator?

  • Greetings,

You could certainly put them in a dehydrator to speed the drying process. Most people just allow the lozenges to air-dry overnight though. If you make the lozenges a little bit smaller than the video depicts they will air-dry just fine. Thanks for viewing our video and thanks for the question.
