Ok, I've umped and have been umping for 4 years now, and when I'm home plate ump, even at the high school level you see kids trying to frame the ball, pulling it in, down, up, etc. Not only do you look stupid, it is an insult to us umpires. You can talk to any umpire and ask him how he thinks about framing and he will say the exact same thing, it is an attempt to fool us, to make a ball look like a strike, not honest baseball, not good sportsmanship. This video is absolutely horrible.

ok first of all inexperienced catchers do frame the ball by trying to pull it way in with there arm thats what they shouldnt do that's what makes them look stupid but since i have caught all of my life i know the catchers job is to make the pitchers job easier that means framing close pitches with your wrist if you watch any pro game u will notice if its a close pitch u will see a dramatic movement in their wrist thats a good frame as long as they dont move their arm u shouldnt get mad.

before posting a video like this you should make sure you know how to field the position. Incorrect blocking, and very incorrect framing. You will only make umpires mad that way. But he does cover the basics that you need to learn to be a catcher. Just dont do like he does...
