i love the sport. and i have always loved fishing and hunting. i practice catch and release. but do some research on the mortality rate of fish at these tournaments. the number of fish that die is staggering.
i wouldnt doubt it, fish get handled a lot during those tournaments. I was at the final weighin at the classic about a week ago and they announced that every one of the 200 -n- somethin bass caught in that tournament was kept alive and released alive which is great, but sadly it doesnt always happen that way every time, just look at what happened to Ike a year or two ago when his live well messed up and his limit died. stuff happens but obviously shouting at the fish didnt necessarily kill them
no i dont mean that shouting at it killed it. but BASS wants everyone to practice and release but that benefits them greatly. im sure they wouldnt want us to haul bass around all day in our boat and let them go at the end of the day. alot of fish die days or maybe a week later from what ive read.

most sportsman respect the species they are after. but it doesnt look like mike does. i think it shows disrepect to shout in the mouth of a fish like that. how would it look to kill a deer and stand there and scream at it?

dude he's pumped!! if i knew i was close to winnin 100 grand i would prolly do the same. Yea....it would look stupid to stand and yell in the mouth of a dead deer. but thats DEAD deer, ike didnt kill or hurt that fish (besides giving it a sore lip from hooking it) so there is a difference. He's passionate about the sport. Thats just his style, u gotta love it or hate it and i LOVE IT!!!!!!

i love the sport. and i have always loved fishing and hunting. i practice catch and release. but do some research on the mortality rate of fish at these tournaments. the number of fish that die is staggering.

i wouldnt doubt it, fish get handled a lot during those tournaments. I was at the final weighin at the classic about a week ago and they announced that every one of the 200 -n- somethin bass caught in that tournament was kept alive and released alive which is great, but sadly it doesnt always happen that way every time, just look at what happened to Ike a year or two ago when his live well messed up and his limit died. stuff happens but obviously shouting at the fish didnt necessarily kill them

no i dont mean that shouting at it killed it. but BASS wants everyone to practice and release but that benefits them greatly. im sure they wouldnt want us to haul bass around all day in our boat and let them go at the end of the day. alot of fish die days or maybe a week later from what ive read.

ive caught plenty of fish. i used to fish all the time all year long. i have a bad back now and dont go much anymore and i miss it.
