I want to move to Pittsburgh and everyone I tell that to always says, "Whhy." (Its mostly because I live in Florida) But one of the main reasons why I want to move there is because I want those experiences. I want to experience snow and ice skating on a lake. I want to get my car stuck in some place random. I want to experience real seasons and a real winter. People don't realize that I've never experienced those things before. I think it would be such a neat adventure moving there.
I moved away once to a city that was about an hour and a half from me and to be honest, it was the absolutely most miserable thing I had ever done. I'm a small town, stick close to home type of girl. Much happier in my home town. That was my move away experience. Also taught me to never live in a city either, lol.
I live in the Bronx (NYC!!!) and my boyfriend is a Jersey transplant. I'm trying very hard to stay in NYC and not have to move Jersey. When you are used to 24/7 city life and not driving..its hard to change.
I'm living at home right now, just to be able to save money. But I'm in a place right now where anything is possible and I now have so many ideas about where to spend the rest of my life, and I definitely think that YES, you have to move away, and I totally agree with you! The city is where it's AT!!! I have a little sister in NY, and we're mad close, so that's where I'll probably end up, but I totally agree with you about San Francisco, went there once and I fell in love!
I just started university last week and I moved about and hour and a half away from home and it's so hard for me to adapt! It's so quiet here! I grew up in a loud environment and I feel like I can't be the loud person I am. Most times I can't wait to get back home so that I could just blast music in my room and be loud.
I completely agree. Everyone should move some place opposite of what they've known growing up. That was the "big city" for me, too. I found so many new things and people to appreciate in life. I lived there for almost 11 years and have since moved back to my hometown. I do miss some things about city life such as the cultural differences and seeing people other than pasty white folks but my heart was here and it's where I wanted to raise my child.
Moved to SF area over 10 years ago to start over. Fiance cheated and I wanted to get the hell outta Dodge. But now, part of me wants to move back to Long Beach where I grew up. Decisions....
