to keep hummer alive GM has to make some acceptions. people will always want big powerful cars. while honda,toyota,nissan have great cars, theyre few and far between, hondas only hope for a cool (stock) car is the s2k and nissan the 350z(i dont count the GT-R because it is an unnatainable,toyota's only good (stock) cars are discontinued,the MR2 and Supra are dead,hummers is different, so are the challenger,camaro and mustang. those carry an appeal that a prelude,civic, corrola,will never posess

i never said non american cars werent awesome, my favorite cars are european, dude even the parts in my dodge are japanese and german!!!!!! my point is that there is a market for the mustangs and hummers. oh and the mustang v8 is not a 4 liter it is a 4.6 and produces 300 bhp. the honda s2k runs 280 hp. it is faster in the corners because of suspension. nothing more

you were correct on the s2k, my info came from superstreet magazine on its hp rating, that car had a different setup. by the way, the companies are not yet bankrupt. close, but not yet. and yes there is a market on those cars. its just that its smaller because people can afford them buy them. most younger people choose to buy smaller because its more affordable. i myself went from a mercury cougar (common american front engine rear drive muscle car) to a compact dodge spirit flex fuel

when a reliable alternitave to gas is found,v8 and bigger engines will be in demand again. soon oil companies have to look at them if they dont want to lose all business. also theres the fact that there are people who use bigger engines for work purposes. no truck owner would get rid of his silverado,f150,ram and buy a toyota minitruck. look up the videos on here with v8 tags, the ford and dodge v10s as well, people are proud of these things. as long as its wanted, it will be built and sold.

I don't know why Hummer is taking such a hit.. it must be because of it's image. I understand the downfall in sales, but why more Hummer and not Escalade, Yukon, and Tahoe? I never want any of the sales to die, I've been buying Denalis since 1999, but I think Hummers image has to do with the lack in sales rather than just gas prices. The engine in the Escalade and the Denali is bigger than the Hummers, maybe it needs a restyling or something, I do agree it's gotten a little dated...
