This is the kind of thing that if matt stone or trey parker did it on South Park, the people here hating this would praise it for being hilarious and risque. Brilliant every time. The whole enthusiasm of cancer boy, despite his suffering, is great since it just adds to the guilt. Cancer boy is both a sympathetic figure and totally innocent and free. But he also decided to use his cancer for good when he does that "Whistle when You're Low" which is really just a bit too much milking of it all, but of course no one cares and loves it because they're all on brain candy! It's like how the South Park kids love Phil Collins when they're on ritalin.

I read that they fought the studios very hard to keep Cancer Boy in the film. They won, but at great cost. The studio buried the film when it came out. Gave it virtually no support. And it died. Very funny though. I'm glad they shot themselves in the foot.

Actually, I heard it wasn't Cancer Boy, it was the whole anti-uppers issue. The pharmaceutical industry was not happy with this film AT. ALL.

But it certainly is genius. I had cancer and no hair when I watched it, and my friends who were with me all SCREAMED when this came on. I laughed my head off at their mortification.
