  • The communist authority orchestrates the agent orange lawsuit as a propaganda for money through Nguyen Trong Nhan, a former health minister who is a vice chairman of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange, and millions of dollars of compensation for victims would end up in the pockets of corrupt high-ranking officials as in the case of PMU-18 scandal in which foreign aid was used to gamble and pay for prostitutes. (Vietnam is ranked as second most corrupt nations in Asia)

  • Show a photo of your hero Sam Ibarra from ' Tiger squad '. Ibarra there was one of the most skilful murderers in a platoon, of thousand killed peace inhabitants in operation «mucker»

Nazis for such crimes have been hung up. And who has escaped those has caught and has destroyed "Massad"

  • The man that is interviewed appears to be John Paul Vann. the true author of nixon'x vietnameszation program. He died in a helicopter crash not long after this.

  • @neptunisregis11 Definitely Vann.......'Bright Shining Lie" is one great book for anyone eager to learn about the conflict. Neil Sheehan won the Pulitzer.

  • > would there have been a big difference if John Paul Vann didn't die?

The 1973 peace treaty reduced the American military advisor presence to 50 officers. In 1974-75 ARVN was on its own, and as Sheehan said, Vann didn't miss his exit since without the ability to lay down ARC LIGHT interdiction boxes even JPV couldn't have saved the south IMO.

The only way ARVN could win was to keep PAVN out of Laos and Cambodia, an impossible task.

  • kinda makes you wonder, would there have been a big difference if John Paul Vann didn't die? Would the ARVN hold out longer?

  • Looking relative! Was a Viet Refugee. Worked at Ford Plant (Lorain OH) in 1977! Please help! Will Pay for help!

  • The interviewee looks like John Vann who was instrumental in halting the fall of Kontum in May 1972, but was to die in an helicopter crash about two weeks later - perhaps a month or so after this interview.

  • yup, that's Vann. He was effectively the (civilian) 3-star general equivalent in charge of MR2 at the time. Too bad PAVN wanted Kontum more than ARVN . . . without direct US armed intervention, with Kontum so went Pleiku, An Khe, Qui Nho, and the rest of MR2.

But for ARVN to hold the MR2 frontier it would have had to pull troops out of MR1 or MR3. Fascinating strategic challenge. ARVN was doomed with the 1972 "peace" treaty.

  • It is interesting to see him in person after reading about his efforts in Vietnam.
