  • I loved this...but was Micky on speed? LOL

  • This is transcendent. Two of the greatest lead voices in history, trading licks. Awesome.

  • I love this song and they sing it great together. Mark Lindsay will always be a teen's dream.

  • I dearly loved The Monkees' version and it was probably my favorite Monkees song... but of the two versions, the Raiders' version's always been my favorite of the two - for one thing, Phil's bass line in the Raiders' version is *killer*. Both good, but the Raiders' version is fantastic.

  • Thanks. Too cool. Both versions were great.

  • Hi Folks,

Interesting piece of history to this song. It was on the Midnight Ride album that Kicks was on. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart pushed hard for this song because they believed it would be a hit. For whatever reason the Raiders didn't go with it.

Frustrated, the writers took the demo to the Monkees and their version is exactly how the Raiders did it except for the vocals.

Ironically, Paul's Raiders have been doing it for years in their live shows.

  • PS I want to let y'all kids know "I'm Not Your Steppin Stone' was one of several great songs written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart.

  • DELICIOUS! FABULOUS! Thanks for posting!

  • Three great entertainers. Thanks for the posting. Let's hope the powers that be put out a CD/DVD package of the shows.

  • Thanks, Gene!
