What a shame SO Fine was such a mega blinder of this album...this song was slept on in the worse way!!! Love this track..vintage Kashif at its best! Bravo poster!
heres another of the lost 80's male vocalists that did present real soul, along with Jeffrey Osborne - Freddie Jackson - Kashief and early Luther. somehow they got lost in the shuffle. Howard also did a some background vocals for Micheal Jackson ( off the wall)
@DJofDESTRUCTION Didn't you know the music industry was design to keep the best of artists down.
It's all about bubble gum chart toppers. 2011, it's all about the sexy profile. Damn the vocals, if you look good on candy cam, you have a record deal.
Buy, Yes, I too concur with your statement, HJ got lost in the shuffle!
This was my 1st album of Howard. I played it so much that the vinyl melted...LOL. this was 1 of my favorite cuts on here. Brings back some nice memories
I remember blasting this in my car on my way to pickup my girlfriend me and her riding all over the east side S.A......Many years later she's now my wife. Songs back then meant something and it was real!
Was just strting to DJ when this came out as a B side to So Fine. But this soon became the selectors choice. When I played in the reggae clubs this was always a killer with the lovers crew. BIG CHOON!! Real music. Still does it today too......
Fell in love with this song back in 1983. Remembering riding to friend's grandmother's house with my cousin and her boyfirend when I first heard this song and I never forgot it. Some memories are too good to forget! My sister loves it too! Great post!
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life
I have this entire album, made a tape, and hooked the boom box up from the audio outs to my CD burner and have a quasi-digital copy of the whole CD.. it spins in my 10-disc changer always and 4-ever!
OMG...This is a smoker. I haven't heard this since my older used to play his LP to death when I was 12 or 13. I'm from Chicago but now in Sacramento, Ca and I DJ old school sets and steppers sets too. This song is a smooth steppin song. For all steppers and hand dancers out there, add this one to your collection.
Got this one in my collection too. Play it so much that my children, who are 12 & 16, sing it. My children love the 80's. They know this stuff now cant touch the music we had.
Gregster, this is croon3. I forgot about this jam. I met Howard at Sears in Santa Monica in 88'. He had his little baby with him in a stroller. He was a cool dude.
when it came out it was ok but dont you thibk a lot of the 80s stuff sounds more dated than say the 70s stuff you know all those drum machine as opposed to the natural syncopation od bass, drumms and rithim guitar played by real people?
thanks for all the great comments
Im working on new stuff to pick up where we let off
again thanks

This was the b side to So Fine.
What a twofer.
Fair play to Kashif for giving it up and not keeping it for himself.
