  • Andy is the man! The entire staff at Drum! are great people.

  • Keep on sluggin' Andy!

  • Can you please hit them a little harder cause I cant hear... :)

  • I was taught to play the hi hat with foot on the end of each triplet - i.e. on the first ghost note of each two notes on the snare. Just a tricky variation of this really!

  • Thanks Andy, great demo. I learned a lot in how to do a tutorial as I've only done 2 so far, and one of them was for the Texas Shuffle.

  • Is it just the mics or is he just a really loud drummer? Maybe he just felt loud that day.....

  • Totally awesome lesson, not overdone or anything. Thanks alot!

  • haha, i started my drumming in a blues band almost only shuffle and swing, now i have to learn playing straight and clean, got anything good tips for that?

  • You have to relax more and everything but the accented note should be soft. Work on relaxing and getting this smooth.

  • His impression of a rock drummer playing a shuffle with no swing sounds exactly like I would sound playing that. I really need to work on my swinging and grooves.

  • A lot of people have a hard time with the Texas shuffle, great job breaking it down. My students always have a hard time getting that left hand going.
