I was taught to play the hi hat with foot on the end of each triplet - i.e. on the first ghost note of each two notes on the snare. Just a tricky variation of this really!
haha, i started my drumming in a blues band almost only shuffle and swing, now i have to learn playing straight and clean, got anything good tips for that?
At the end of his life, the deadliest gunfighter of the Old West is given a choice: Hell or redemption. He chooses redemption and God's Archangel transports him to modern day Los Angeles to serve bloody, frontier justice on the worst dregs of society.
His impression of a rock drummer playing a shuffle with no swing sounds exactly like I would sound playing that. I really need to work on my swinging and grooves.
A lot of people have a hard time with the Texas shuffle, great job breaking it down. My students always have a hard time getting that left hand going.
Andy is the man! The entire staff at Drum! are great people.

Thanks Andy, great demo. I learned a lot in how to do a tutorial as I've only done 2 so far, and one of them was for the Texas Shuffle.

Is it just the mics or is he just a really loud drummer? Maybe he just felt loud that day.....

You have to relax more and everything but the accented note should be soft. Work on relaxing and getting this smooth.
