what can i do to release this pressure, i went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me antibiotics and ive taken them for 4 doses now at 2 pills a dose and still have this pressure/pain, im very disoriented and cant walk straight because of the infection/pressure in middle ear.
i have recentley been told i have fluid trapped behind both my ear drums and i am in a lot of pain with it and can't hear verry well what can i do to get rid of it 'cause the doctor has prescibed nothing
I've had this for over a year now... every time I went to the doctor he told me to use a nasal spray, which provided tiny relief but nothing lasting, and the fluid seemed to always return. Finally I'm being recommended to the hospital, hopefully they can give me some kind of operation to get rid of the bloody stuff!
I saw only one bit of earwax. LOL XD. I dont know if I have an infection, preforation, or whatever this is, but my ear is KILLING ME!!! I wanna scream so loud but its 6 am so I cant. I haven't had an ear infection since I was around 6 maybe. I am 13 now. Its like the pain is pounding, every now and then it is sharper and more painful. My dad has ear problems and my brother had preforated ears when he was little. I think it might be a gene. X.X I'm next.
The fluid resolves by flowing out of the eustachian tube after the swelling has resolved. If it does not resolve spontaneously, a myringotomy may be performed or an ear tube may be placed to drain the fluid via the ear canal.
I had vestibular neuritis for 6 months and it was appalling, it was like being on a rocking boat all the time, and i did not know what caused it. Now i have tinnitus.
Recently I heard some nasal pray that can help to clean the bacteria. My question is that:
If we bring the salt water into the inner ear (behind ear drum) via nose, then we can get a risk of bringing bateria from the nose into middle ear. Note I also have a mind nasal drip.
Recently, I came to the General practitioner, he told me that do not touch it cos it already stable. He said just keep my ear clean, & do not let water from outside go into my ear. Note: I always use cotton to put into my right ear when taking shower, so that water will not come in. I never gone to swim since I got ear problem at 18 years old.
It did get rid of all the foul juice. But because the juice is so little, then I didn't bother it too much. So I stopped go to the doctor. At that time I am 21 years old.
Now my right ear always stably discharge a bit of foul juice every night, some time it come out more expecially in hot days, or when I got sore throat. But In the winter it come out less.
However, just a few weeks after surgery, the ear start to discharge the yellow foul juice, my ear got fever cos it really hot. I then spend a lot of time to drink antibiotics, but it doesn't help much. I then went to another doctor & he he help to limit the problem. He said I got middle ear infection. After with him for a few month, my right ear discharge less foul juice than before (probably one 5th of a drop). But since then no mater how much antibiotic I used.
I then just realized that I swam in the river which is very dirty, so the bacteria from the river got into my right ear. After a few year using antibiotic, but couldn't get rid of it completely, a doctor recommend me to surgery my ear to remove the infection bone inside my ear. the doctor also mend the ear drum for me. Note: my left ear is really ok since I was born, no problem. The doctor said that I got inner ear infection.
I am now 33 years old. I got infection of my right ear since I am 4 years old, the doctor at that time fixed it, but they also broke the ear drum, so I couldn't hear anything since there.
My ear stable since that time until I am 18 years old, the right ear start to generate a very huge amount of foul wax, even I tried to clean it, then it still come out again and again after 24 hours.
I have had 3 colds in the past 2 years and all had a middle ear infection, or a small ear infection. The first time was bad, and it took roughly a week for it to clear up with antibiotics, the second time wasn't as bad, I had nasal spray this time and the antibiotics. This time I'm going again to the doctors to get more antibiotics and nasal spray... Pm me to see how it goes!
@JERRYKILLINGYOU2 Get back to basics. Put peroxide in the ear untill it stops bubbling. Take probiotics every day to help get your bodies defenses up. Try a chiropractor (believe it or not). Go to the health food store and buy ear candles. QUIT taking antibiotics! Get to a Natropath ASAP! You need to heal your body from the inside out. Obviously your imune system is weak, that can be fixed. Believe me, I have been there. Good Luck, Dr. Laura
Liquid in the ear can be from an outer ear infection, a middle ear infection, or from ear wax which can liquify when your body temperature reaches a certain threshold. Only your ENT doctor can tell you which.
sir i would like to know that what is the reason for forming liquid ?and in my ear every day iam suffering from some liquid some time thick some time thin what is the reason and what are the remedy for that ? Thanks
is it possible to get rid of slime stuck behing the ear drum? I'm sure I have some because my hearing went suddenly muffled and feels FULL, but at some point it almost cleared and then came back again. I've had some kind of cold since january and I tamed it with some nasal spray + antibiotics this month.
You could have eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD), which can be caused by allergies, sinusitis, or blockage of nasal airflow. It results in fullness/pressure in the ear, with mild changes in hearing (muffled or sounds like you could be under water). Actual effusions, fluid behind the ear drum, rarely come and go with, "popping your ears" (performing the valsalva maneuver as you described). Nasal sprays can be helpful, and you are not hurting your ears doing this. You should seek an ENT.
I've had fluid behind my eardrums for many years now. If I plug my nose and try to blow out, it sounds like my hearing becomes better and a lot less muffled.
Is this helping my Eustachian Tube clear the fluid, or just hurting my ear altogether?
Sorry to hear about the vertigo. Vertigo can be caused by multiple things. If it is unrelenting, room-spinning, nauseating vertigo, without hearing loss or change in mental status, it is most likely vestibular neuritis. If there are only seconds of vertigo with changes in head position, no hearing loss, most likely BPPV. Changes in hearing, or ringing associated with the vertigo, could be Menieres Disease. Fevers, chills, hearing loss, vertigo, ringing, and fullness, could be labyrinthitis.
@NorthwestENT I have the the same problem I am on waiting list in UK for surgery Myringoplasty ,when water gets into my ear I am fell very dizzy my mood is changed stared using cotton wool but still not helping problem If I am close to the noise even hoover then I have tinnitus dizzines and feel bad inside my balance .I have to say that it destroyed my life for much worse because I was diffrent person now I feel evey day like I would be drunk dizzy vertigo tinnitus social life well there is no
Hopefully I can get some help here. Last week (over 7 days ago) I started getting dizzy and had fullness in my left ear. The last 4-5 have been unbearable with extreme vertigo. Doctor gave me meds for the vertigo and motion sickness pills. They knock me out so bad & I still have vertigo. Have to call to see ENT this week. Doc didn't see any infection, tho. I have plans in May & July & really need this fixed. Any thoughts? Waiting months in bed doesn't seem like a good option to me.
I've been suffering from what I suppose to be a eustachian tube problem from for about 8 years now, and I have a few quesitons, so please bear with me.
1) Does holding heat such as a rice sock to the ear help evaporate fluid?
2) Sometimes ear feels as if it's clearing, but as it clears there's also a build up of a slight pressure feeling in the ear. Why?
3. If i hold nose & blow gently, there is a slight pop and I hear somewhat normally for maybe 1-2 secs. What does this indicate?
1.While holding a warm compress to the ear may help you deal symptomatically with the fluid, this process will not evaporate middle ear fluid.
2.The eustachain tube is the only manner through which the middle ear can drain fluid and pressure, so as you are clearing the fluid, you may be also accumulating pressure behind the ear drum.
3.Hard to say what that indicates. As long as you are hearing a pop when you perform that manuever, that means that the eustachian tube and middle ear are clearing
In rare cases, this could make you feel unsteady, particularly if the fluid is infected. If you feel unsteady or feel like you have room spinning, this should be evaluated with a hearing test and a visit to an ENT.
For spontaneous resolution of an effusion, we perform a 5 minute procedure in the office on most adults, a myringotomy and tympanostomy tube placement. We make a small incision in the ear drum and place a small pressure equalization tube to allow aeration of the middle ear space and drainage of the fluid. The most conservative management of an effusion is medication, decongestants, nasal steroids, oral steroids, and watchful waiting as this typically resolves over 3 months.
I've had fluid behind my right ear for almost a year now. It is truly hell. I will do anything, anything, to get my hearing back..

Ringing in the ear can be a normal symptom along with hearing loss and fullness in the ear. Ringing will not be the only symptom though.

I have had a slow liquid drip in middle ear .
When i swallow i get a crackling noise next to ear drum, sometimes i feel its going to explode.
Cilamox was prescribed did not clear it up.
Have had best results with eating onion s and garlic cloves with a zinc tablet.
Good luck hope this easy method helps someone.
