It's pointless though, because Effort Values will max out through regular gameplay-Macho Brace will not make Squawks any stronger.

I passed him I am at the mountain fighting the team magma boss guy and I evolved my marshstomp to a swampert and it pwns. I also have a linoon but I'm guna migrate it to platinum. His combusken or squalks should evolve into a combusken at level 36 he should also train his pikablu and bird so they become about level 26-29 ish other wise he'll lose to the fire type gym leader and she f***ing pwns if u dont have water types and a few revive root things.

You should just not put the macho brace on a pokemon. It halves the speed, but doubles EVs gotten from battling a pokemon. Those EVs don't really matter unless you know are a pokemon Pro :S confusing shit :S

I didn't know what a Macho Brace did, so I stuck it on my Ralts and let it stay there all the way up to after...the Devon Scope Gym. So it was a lvl46 Ralts.

I didn't have to, probably maxing out "growth" a loooooooong time before, so I was getting frustrated with some battles (Ralts and Combusken were the only ones I used. Ever.) because of the halve speed thing.

Though, it did make a god-player Gardevoir =)
