  • who agrees ati should try and start to release games?

  • wii U

  • this tech demo rules.. looks so good even todays games does not look so good.

  • Sim City 5

  • GTA5

  • x850 was a beast!

  • What's the song used here? :3

  • @atung323 i dont know, but this song is available in the toyshop demo folder as a mp3-file, very cool, really want to know who composed that masterpiece

  • Part of making a game be visually impressive is making it RUN WELL while at it, sad thing is, there's barely any examples of this today.

  • looks like the left4dead building

  • thats what i was thinking

  • Ya I know huh

  • Does anyone know what's the song's title.Or was it made for this demo..?:(

    Anyway, I love it!

  • Why is it that these demos loook sooo much better than games that actually come out?

  • Because there optimized...

  • because game engines suck

  • Technical demonstrations only have to account for what is being shown, there is allot more going on in a game that prevents this quality level.

That and games are limited by the lowest common denominator audience, if you made a game of this level only those with the top hardware would run it, which is of course bad for sales.

  • @AnnoyedDragon What you said means nothing, since crap like Metro 2033 (getting ahead of their skills to code efficient shit), Borderlands (a plain-out shitty console port, rendering-wise) or BattleForge or STALKER series, which are pathetic excuses of PC exclusives that run like vomit and look barely better than you averege console game (exclusing resolution and texture quality factors) IS STILL RELEASED.

  • @AnnoyedDragon Also take into account PC games that are ported to consoles. Ultimately, consoles are dragging down PC devs...but hey, whatever makes the most money right?

  • @ishmaboy For the developers. I don't think Nvidia/ATI are liking console limitation too much, no need to upgrade for console ports.

  • because there's so little stuff in the demo compared to a full game, so they cram in loads of awesome graphics

  • The animation you are watching in this video is being rendered in real time. It means that rotational computations, reflections, refractions and animations are being calculated as time progresses.

This video was not rendered frame by frame beforehand.

  • is it raytrace?

  • no it's realtime

  • Actually, it looks like it's realtime raytracing. You will see stuff like that occasionally, particularly for water rendering in most modern games for current PCs and game consoles.

  • Where are the GPU physics?

  • ATi X1000 and GeForce 7000 Series GPUs weren't able to compute Physix. The Demo is from a time when these cards where state of the art.

  • @olfrygt2007 WTF is Physix? You mean PhysX? Why is everyone talking about that like it's some fucking idustry norm, ffs. It's some old company's idea of hardware physics acceleration that got bought off by nVidia, and now, with DX11 and OpenCL, is still fucking supported for whatever reason.

  • @NeoXF I'm so sorry I somehow got the 'i' in there. I don't know to whom I responded because of the new comment system. It wasn't a pro-nVidia point I wannted to make. it was just an answer to sombody who asked something ralted to PhsyX.

  • All they need now is a detective with some dialog speaking about a case...

  • \m/ ATI FOR THE WIN \m/

  • Lol this is fine with my Ati Radeon X600

  • on my radeon HD3870 too. :-)

  • runs good on 8600gt to :)

  • I know right haha

  • the sushi engine uses custom shaders, i think it would be hard for any nvidia chip to run it...

  • There are several SushiDX demos that run flawlessly on adequate Nvidia hardware. Good examples are the R300 demos (and earlier ones).

  • thats because they are so old that nv has made features that mach the speacial shaders, but NO nv card should be able to run i think it;s double cross? yeah, because it uses shaders called"ati cf af filter 01" and stuff like that, the nv drivers gonna go bonkers trying to find it!

  • used to have a ati x1650 512mb this would lag on =/ now i got a 8800gs sce and would like to run it again... how you get it to run on nvidia brand card? any help would be apreciated =)

  • x600 was a sm2.0 card, it cant run a demo that "showcases the power of SM3.0" now can it.

  • dont know dont care

  • Is it still this pretty when 2 people are fighting?

Or something that you see lots in vid games?

  • is this based on real-time rendering? Like Directx or OpenGL?

  • Its a realtime Demo for Radeon X1800 GPUs an above. I dont know exactly which API it is but I guess its DirectX.

  • nope, open gl. runs om macs even(it was shownat macworld to show how good open gl was)

  • The Windows version is definitely DirectX. Else it wouldn't say "Requires DirectX 9.0c" during loading process.

  • you may be right.

  • sweet video
