I do a similar reach out to the youth in my area only it is about the difference between contrails and chemtrails and the devastating effects that these deliberate aerosol operations are having on our ecosystem. Just think, soon there will be almost a whole generation that will think jet aircraft can cause a blue sky to turn white.
if someone REALLY wanted to brainwash high school kids, they would force them to come to the same building every day, force them to submit to random searches, teach them state approved curriculum...
Libertarianism is growing. Paul's popularity is the meet emblem of that fact. People are tired of being pushed around.
I know my city could use a healthy dose of it. We have color laws for houses. Menards even had trouble because of their standard color scheme. Property taxes sky rocket as the city spends and regulates to no end. I would love to see a libertarian movement here.
Libertarianism is only "growing" to the extent that some established conservatives are moving further to the right. It's not growing in any way that would upset the social order.
It certainly ain't growing in my town! I guess rummage sales are next on the city hit list. Can you imagine? Those dastardly little sales old ladies love to have. WTF? Ebay lobby for this? An attempt to force collectors to use their fucked up near-monopoly service?
If I lived in Keene I would encourage the free staters to run for local office. A small town could be taken or made if enough people move to one spot. I've contemplated that since I was about 20.
And you should go into politics instead of acting like a child in these comments. It's amazing how much people reflect the things that disturb them in others.
Don't you live overseas? What would the cops say if a guy in Korea called on free staters in NH? What would you call and say?
"Police? There are a bunch of free staters in Keene. I think they're protesting or smoking weed or having fun or something. They're going to take over the world. You must stop them right away! Could you give me a ticket too? I need some punishment as well. Please guide my every action"
"We know all about the them, lone wolf. Now be a good wolf and beg for your eggs"
I wonder if Ian's great liberty message will also include handing out marijuana to these high school kids, as was done earlier this year in the lobby of the PD after "indoctrinating" Keene College kids for the 4:20 events. I can't believe people actually thought letting 10th graders smoke dope was/is a good idea.
I know it's unbelievable, but those kids that lit up in the police department brought their own weed. And there is no indoctrination at the 4:20 events. Those who wish to participate are simply encouraged to. The point of those events is not simply to get high in public. They are a gathering for anybody who has had enough of the psychotic war on drugs and the hundreds of thousands of harmless people it victimizes every year.
I agree that marijuana should be legal; however, I disagree with the wisdom in encouraging or allowing youth to smoke - whether it be tobacco, corn husks or dope and whether it be brought, bought or given away. I think you know what I mean.
"We might as well do a little indoctrination of our own."
That was aptly put.
Of course, it would be better if FK had a message that made sense. Peaceful evolution is an admirable goal for sure. But that will never be achieved via some kind of mythical "voluntary" society.
Like Ian said, 10 minutes of activism. The same opportunity presents itself every weekday twice right on schedule. Dave being "in the way" for a few seconds is a fair trade for a properly-shot on-the-scene report. Not shameful in any way. I can't understand how some people lackadaisically criticize others.
After listening to this, I have the following deductions of this group.
1. You all probably got beat up a lot in high school and never had any girlfriends
2. You all have no real jobs, so you jsut go around and "ambulance chase" every issue no matter how miniscule it is.
3. You get a rise out of harassing people for nearly no reason at all.
4. You seriously need to get laid.

There's nothing fucked up about it.

Then what are you worried about?

They should definitely go into politics instead of acting like children outside the office buildings.

Nope, I don't need to go into politics to stop free staters. I just need to call the cops on them.

Well, if I cared enough, I'd certainly take more action than posting comments on a youtube video.
But I don't, so I'm not.
p00lman 2 years ago
So really it's all just about being an asshole on youtube?
mrethrift 2 years ago
No. I disagree and express my reasons for disagreement so that someone else can address my disagreement and respond.
That's what we call "discussion." It's this thing intellectuals do. You probably wouldn't understand.
