i see well-dressed, young, capable, non-accent english-speaking beggars in the U.S. all the time begging for money & they want your money w/o performing, they just stand there. the worst thing is when a 6ft+ 200lb beggar look like they would mug you for a dollar while others tell you a dollar is not enough. most ppl would'nt have this impression of the U.S., but i've lived in it all my life, and sadly, beggars are not unique to china.

I imagine it has been very difficult for them to put this show together and continue doing it, definitely not by their own choice either. However I have been living in this part of china for 6 years now and I have seen so many people with so much worse fates that somehow this seems light-hearted compared to much I have seen. Guess it's all a matter of perspective, but I thought people should see this clip seeing as I happened to get it.

It is sad and unfortunate, but they are actually doing much better than some. They atleast have been able to find a way to keep themselves afloat. There are some kids out here who get their legs broken by adults so they look crippled (and actually become crippled)so they can get more money from begging. That is REALLY sad :( Desperate people do desperate things I suppose.

thanks for posting this, many westerner tourists don't see this side of China. At least by seeing this it will enlighten them. My only question is: "As some of the children are controlled by gangsters,what does one do to help; give money or not?"

Well, sometimes when I see some older person that is using the kids to make cash I would probably not give them any money, but sometimes I don't see the older people or the kids seem very sincerely in need I will help them out. Just take it situation by situation.

Poverty is horrifying, and I would never wish this kind of fate for anyone. But for them to find any way to stay afloat is very brave and commendable. Being a beggar in China is a rough scene, there are just too many people! It's just so sad that anyone would have to live this life. But it's very common to see some things like this in this poorer part of China.
