Religions are opinions as well, you decide what to believe in. We can't prove them wrong, we can't prove them real, so I respect people with faith. However, when you force a child to memorize words (putting words in his/jher mouth), that's brainwash, and of that I don't approve.

But memorizing the Quran is absolutely pointless if you do not understand the Quran (which they dont).

Understanding the Quran is more important then learning how to become a parrot and repeat the Quran without any real understanding of it.
