Are logitech running out of innovative solutions? Nice looking device as a presentation clicker if you get rid of the need to rotate the device to move back a slide (a simple forward and back button does fine) and sell the device for £15 (maybe £20 max). But to actually use as a mouse when there are plenty of compact laptop mice around...crazy idea from a company that make such good ergonomic devices.
Otherwise how about making it into an air mouse...now that would be more interesting.
I love Logitech look and feel, but I don't see the market for this product. Does anyone actually need presentation clickers anymore? And if they do, do they need to have it in their pocket but also sometimes unexpectedly need a tiny uncomfortable mouse??
@MrKaneShadow there sure is a market for it, otherwise we wouldn't have made it ;-)
Seriously though, it's been made to cater to the people that do presentations, are on the go, need something quick and easy. It's an addition to our extensive range, check out the rest at logitech.com
Yeap. Really intuitive evolution with your hand to go back. I woul rathger use mu thumb to click forward and backward using left(front) and right(middle) button. More ergonomical than this "really cool and intuitive" evolution weith my wirst. Useless crap which is neither mouse or pointer. Go back to your drawing desk :P
I would like to try a new concept, wouldn't know how it really is without actually trying it out myself but whether I'll buy it or not depends on the pricing.
First I thought it was a joke...then I saw that they were serious...WTF its the size of my pinky finger and isnt even a cube...IT'S A RECTANGULAR PRISM FOR FUCK SAKE THAT IS 2ND GRADE GEOMETRY!!! (yes caps means I am yelling because this is unbelievably stupid)
@treemeisterGC sorry you feel that way, we've had a great response to it. Check out the rest of our range on logitech.com we are sure there'll be something that suits your needs.
@CHANELdeANDREW Well it hasn't been designed for everyday desk use, it's more a casual, on the go, type of product. Check out the rest of our range in logitech.com
@kaiostudio not everyone uses Bluetooth actually. While its a great technology most people use wirelessvia USB receiver or even our unique Unifying technology where 6 devices can pair to 1 x receiver
@jedskopoz1: But BT works incredibly difficult compared to the Unifying technology of Logitech. I have had BT-keyboards and mice in the past, but I'll never step back because every now and then the connection was just lost and you were left without a keyboard or mouse :(
@mickeynismocat we have a whole range of mice to suit all shapes and sizes of hands and/or uses, head to logitech.com to check them out, there are over 20 models.
have been seeing mice this small for $15AUD for a long time, and have even seen companies handing them out for free at many events. $70USD for what does basically the same job just seems like bad business. come on Logitech, lift your game!
@Dalrymplestiltskin Check out or whole range at logitech.com as we have mice from $15 to $200 so there will be something in the range to suit you. :-)
@logitechausnz you guys do have a large range - i myself am running an MX518, but how does that justify the $70 USD price tag for the cube? i looked into a mouse/laser pointer combo for power-points etc for my local fire brigade, in the end we settled on a $20 unit which works fine. it sits comfortably in my hand and it has only had its batteries changed twice in its three year life. $20 vs $70 - sounds like an easy choice for consumers.
@logitechausnz no problem, it is probably a very nice bit of kit to use, but i just feel for what it's offering you could find a unit for half to a quarter of the price which does essentially the same thing as it doesn't exactly blow the competition out of the water feature wise. big thanks for replying, so many other companies may have just let such comments go unnoticed. its nice to be a customer with a voice, but its a million times better being a customer with somebody listening!
@Dalrymplestiltskin yeah no worries, our Australian team prides itself on actively listening, responding, taking feedback and helping out as much as we can. It's great to be able to get feedback from people like yourself.
@Krasshirsch So you are right, they aren't as unique, don't have the same features and aren't from Logitech :D. Check out the rest of our range at logitech.com
Why don't Logitech use bluetooth anymore? Most devices comes with it, and it won't take a usb slot...
I use a macbook pro and it only has two usb slots so i was forced to buy magic mouse instead of MX Revolution because otherwise i needed to get rid of my external drive :/
@TheMacnerd01 hey head to logitech.com and you'll see we have Bluetooth products, there is our MX 5500 Keyboard/Mouse combo, Bluetooth Mouse M555b, our V470 Laser Mouse, then we have our Wireless Speakers like our Mini Boombox, Wireless Boombox, Wireless Speaker & also our new Wireless Speaker Adaptor which is Bluetooth.
@logitechausnz Yes, i know but. I mean mainly the new products comes with the unify-unit when we talk about mice fx., its another usb device, and thats where i think it would be more practical to use a builtin technology like bluetooth.
But is there something special that unify can do, that bluetooth lacks?
@TheMacnerd01 ok gotcha. Well our product teams are always looking at consumer trends, marketplace trends, changing technologies, what our consumers ask from us etc, so looking at all those things combined they make decisions on things like what to make etc.
Unifying is a technology unique to Logitech and allows up to 6 devices to be connected at once to the 1 USB receiver wirelessly. More info at logitech.com /unifying
But still, i think it's more practical to use bluetooth. It's not meant as a critic, but the reasons is pretty simple; Bluetooth is mostly built-in devices(wich makes products like keyboards work at a larger product group like tablets, phones etc.). The usb-unit can be built as small as the unify. The pairing process can be made just as simple. As it comes to how many devices you can connect to the technology at ones, i don't know..
@TheMacnerd01 yep fair enough. Perhaps there is more people not using Bluetooth compared to those that are. Anyway, we love your feedback, it's great, thanks for sharing it with us.
@TheMacnerd01 I second that. this mouse looks ... (I don't know, not a fan of it) BUT if it were bluetooth, I would be buying this in a heart beep. Logitech uses unifying (in my opinion) to improve connections between different devices, don't waste usb space, etc. and in the process, you remain a captive customer as you won't even think on buying something else that uses another usb. On the market, there are few bluetooth devices, I would love to use this mouse/box with my tablet, cellphone, etc
@jaccubin What version of bluetooth are you using? And what device??? On my macbook pro it works fine and don't drain my battery at all, i'm good to go for about 5-6 hours on my 15inch. Also the usbhub isn't a practical use on the go..
But if you see the another usb device as a good alternative then fine but i will remind you that a usb micro bluetooth device drain the same amount of battery..
@JoshuaPTFan well we would probably advise you check out our M950 or our G700 for extended use. The Logitech Cube is more for casual use for presentations, travelling etc.
@SteveTheDesignGuy ohhh that's a shame to hear..but hey, can't win them all right. We have over 150 others that you might love just head to logitech.com
@jonathan1296x it really depends, but why not check out our R400 or R800 Presenters in our range or our other wireless mice on logitech.com - there'll be something to suit for sure.
@xDjAsOnF hey we do, check out the new C920 High Definition Webcam we announced the other day? We put this video up real quick as we had so many questions about Logitech Cube & so much excitement around the product.
