  • cooking it now!! I live next to a Chinese supermarket and want to learn more about cooking chinese food!

  • Excellent!

  • aww super happy to find this video, both times i was in china i basically begged for cabbage every night from my host family. Now that im back home i miss eating it.

And all the comments about his english, I've been studying mandarin chinese for 5 yearsnow and even went to one of the best highschool in beijing to work on my chinese for three months & chinese people can still tell im a foreigner. The same way we can tell he is too. Get over it!

  • love it

  • (^__^) I love chinese food... Thank you for the recipes.... More power!!!

  • That's what I like to see, a concise vid with clear instructions on how to make something. Enjoyable and to the point.

  • how many table spoon spoons of salt and sugar?

  • I'm trying this tonight!! thx!

  • Your food is so simple, and quick. Thanks for the upload.

  • Wedgeytables :D hes so cool

  • he's a real chinese man, I rather get a chinese recipe from him than from Jenny the white American girl from texas who makes the most amazing chinese cabagge in the world, or so she claims!

  • Stupid to make comments about 'accents'. This is a cooking video. I'd rather get an authentic recipe, than a strange recipe from someone who speaks English perfectly.

  • ok I will watch more videos of cooking chinese foods because I'll go to Hong Kong

  • I am from Hong Kong. It is a very simple and authentic way to stir fry veggies; and we like it.

His accent is as Hong Kong as mine.

  • Don't bash is recipe or his english, maybe he likes to eat it that way!

  • what cracks me up is that this video got so many hits and the Ken Hom videos so few. This one dispells the myth that all chinese people can cook cinese food, this was the least inspirational recipe I have seen for quite some time, the wok is overfilled with cabbage so rather than fry it sits there and boils, the amount of water seeping out onto the plate when he dishes it up would put me off eating it. No soy, no oyster sauce, no chili and a very poor quality cabbage. Poor effort indeed.

  • Terrible recipe. Forget bashing his english, BASH HIS CRAP COOKING SKILLS. You don't even need water and I'd add soy sauce instead

  • halo too

  • this guy is worst than me, im 14, he didnt even cut the fucking ginger or put any sauces. this is not how you do it at all. ive seen his other vids and it is all rubish. this guy is a disgrace. and he is called an expert in the description box, he cooks with such low caliber.screw him and stop watching his vids

  • @darkskullxxx erm dude u arent suposed to eat the ginger =/

    its for the taste douche=-=

  • Old school range wtf?

  • im sure his grammar is better than most english speakers!

  • alright. Now just add some corned beef and potatoes!!

  • thk

  • Too much oil (which is the problem with most Chinese food) and it's not sliced enough. There are much better ways to cook cabbage for taste and nutritional benefit. But if you're a die-hard fan of Chinese cuisine and stir-fry, then this is what you get. Actually, I prefer the Japanese, California and Russian cuisines for preparing cabbage - they rock.

  • @planetcave problem with most Chinese food? not sliced enough? damn, you are one negative person! Seems as though you have some issues if you took the time to write down all the crap.... go back in your cave.

  • @troybrad Go back to your Burger King, Pizza Hut and KFC since everyone is happy, fat and stupid there. You wouldn't know real food if it hit you in the face.

  • @planetcave Actually, it's McDonalds, Wendys, and In-n-Out...get your facts straight. LOL!!!!

  • ; this is so disgustingly horrid. cabbage slices are too big, and no oyster sauce? bloody waste of bandwidth.

  • @theMilkz haha...if it's such a waste, why did you take the time to write a comment? Perhaps you are the one that is so disgustingly horrid.

  • @troybrad i do not find giving an opinion a waste of time. especially if idiots like you are there to reply something stupid.

  • @theMilkz are you Korean?

  • @troybrad i think he is from hkg

  • It's cooking now, I can't wait til it's done :) it smells soo good, thanks man!

  • This looks good and better than plain steamed cabbage! Thanks! ; )

  • Want to learn Chinese with me online?

  • thanks for the advice, I was able to make the stir-fry cabbage. I also added some 老干妈 spice and bean and it tastes great.

  • I love cabbage. Never thought of trying it with Ginger sounds good though with some beef or pork.

May our Heavenly Father & Jesus Bless you.

  • its hard to speak a second language, if im in my 18 and move to a different country to study a second language my accents will be horrible give him props

  • he sounds like every other hong kong chinese

  • mmmm looks great!

  • this reminds me of the Cabbage guy from Avatar. But still great job presenting this dish, I hate boilig my cabbages cause it taste weird but this is awesome

  • This is the best video I've seen for nappa cabbage that shows you how simple it can be to cook them. Grammar? I understood every word that he said and I appreciate this fine Gentleman for allowing me and others into his world. He could have chose not to make such a brief and imformative video, right?

  • well done good job boy

  • Cabbages so delious with China Vinegar & a little bit dried shripms (without dry shrimps also ok), my mother made it during summer night, it is my favour one . I always asked her to do it for me.

  • @Vid

Great job man! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

  • good video thanks

  • I see no flaws in this persons presentation ,and the recpie is just what I was looking for.

  • i hate cabage

  • @tempalil WHYY DID YOU WATCHH THISS =(

    Cabbage hater.

  • @EpikSuperBangHigh CARM DOWN i was looking 4 a recipe so i watched this and comented on it i hate cabbage but you might like it thats your problem so why don't you shut up and mine your own business don't write tome in caps it pisses me off

  • @tempalil LOL! why waste ur time commenting on things u hate. and i was joking, god.

  • i tried this :P its eatable but not perfect

  • i agree with supamico, dont forget the main purpose of any language is to communicate with others. his video is loud and clear.Atleast he can speak two languages, i dont know how many of you can.

  • Great job Hiu. Not only your preparation has merits. I am inspired at your 'on a dime' videography.

  • if he was one of my students while I was teaching english in china, he would probably be one of the best if not the best in the class in terms of his english level. I taught in hunan which is not as industrialized as say shanghai or beijing.

  • can this be made with olive oil , very good by the way

  • @jazzstar747 olive oil and woks do not work together well, too hot for the oil

  • Simple and delicious!

  • his articulation is really bad, lol

  • I just made this but I forgot the ginger. Even without the ginter it was absolutely delicious! I've always boiled cabbage if someone wanted it. I never liked it but I like it now. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

  • I didn't think I'd ever be able to cook using a wok with an electric cooker but this vid has given me hope =)

  • I think his voice and diction are admirable but the recipes are a bit too simple. surely the cabbage could have done with some ginger or red chillies or damn it even a bit of soy sauce

  • @srkdad

yeah usually they do, at least in hunan where i lived in china. they always throw in a little lajiao (ground chili) also a little vinegar

  • those of you knocking on his english, how about you try speaking one of the thousands of chinese dialects and see if you speak correctly. i'd say his english is pretty good for it being a 2nd language.

the cabbage is fried b/c there is oil! in case you didn't notice he video was edited to fast forward the cooking process.

  • @supamico chinese don't have "thousand" dialects moron, but I agree knocking people for accent is ignorant

  • this isint chinese food its just cooked by one lol.

  • sounds good!

  • you try learning chinese and see if your accent doesnt sound fake.

this guy is trying to articulate words as best as he can. that's why he takes his time, in case you didn't pick that up.

notice when he says village with a "w",

yea that's not fake. i think you are ignorant to ethnic cultural tongues

  • why are you adding sugar to stir fried vegetables...?

  • if u want to add in meat, when do u add it in?

  • pork chicken

  • yum!

  • This recipe is deceivingly simple but Delicious. Last night I made Thai Broccoli and Beef and had some left over, I had planned using this Cabbage dish as a side, but decided to mix the Broccoli and Beef and the cabbage together with Jasmine rice on the side. Delicious, It will be going into my meal rotation. The water softens the cabbage, especially when all you can get is Green Cabbage that is tougher than white cabbage. For those that have knocked it, I suspect they haven't tried it.

  • Actually, it tastes really good. Gives you something better to do with cabbage. My mom used to cook this for me all the time. Delicious.

  • stir fry wetables

  • haha i was thinkning the same thing

  • Those who think they know everything really annoys the scholar. Complaining is shit, action is holy.

  • why some ppl are u mean to give a comment if u cannot say good to the ppl just keep ur mouth shut up pls...be appreciative !!! GEEE

  • I love stir fry water, you should try it! (expert village is useless)

  • I don't know... The taste of water is too strong for me, lol! xD

  • stir-fry cabbage ??????????

    bullshit!!!!!!!!

  • Very Cool. Thanks

  • Ya good job... learned a lot today!!!! that was soo hard

  • Yummy !

  • yum yum real fucking good tasty shit......

  • Does anyone know that cabbages have quite a high concentration of uric acid?..it gives people athritis (however you spell that)

  • Oh really... fukadoodle doo...

  • eWaporating

  • Do we have to put the recipe in an authentic chinease table?

  • This is not stir fried cabbage. It is overcooked steamed cabbage.

  • It is well, known that 99% of Chinese cooking is in the preparation. Why don't you tell us the ingredients BEFORE you cook them? Why don't you tell us how to prepare them? Upir videos are useless.

  • Because it wouldn't be an expert village video if it was over 2 minutes and actually taught you something you couldn't learn from googling for 1 second.

  • The quality here is great! Can you tell me how you rendered it? What were your exact settings for Youtube HQ?

  • I'll eat out of a well-seasoned wok over one soaked in chemicals any day.

  • YUM!

  • man your pan is dirty

  • It's stained/tarnished, not dirty. It's probably been used for a long time.

  • do you know what stain is?

  • Stains are not dirty. Stains are, in this case, when a combination of heat, moisture and coking ingrediants have affected the metal so that there is a physical change. Same as silver jewelry. You have to clean it by using harsh chemicals made for cleaning metals. Believe me, were you to throughly wash that pan, the stain would stay, yet check it and it would have no more bacteria/dirt on it then a pot that "looks" clean.

  • okay, what do u want a cookie?

  • Only if it's one of those ultimate chocolate chip ones :-P

  • ill give u the ones from 99 cent.

  • With that knowledge he deserves 2 cookies =P

  • the wok is seasoned, means it has been used alot and gives it more flavor

  • I love the way you talk dude!
