I have an inner voice that is essentially my own voice but only I can hear it. This is how I think, verbally inside my head. I assume everyone has an inner voice similar to this although it probably sounds different. Is this voice my ego? Or is this voice me? Or is this voice a method of thought that both myself and my ego have access to? In which case I have to try and determine who's doing the internal talking.
My ego never craved the now 28 thumbs up. Not that i couldn't feel some sense of joy from the "approval", but what my ego DID want is to express itself. To get rid of the Ego basically means, stopping to identify with thoughts, you're doing it very good as I read that you controlled your mind to not seek for recognizing, see your Ego as your best friend, not as enemie, but never see it as YOU.
Also, search for some speeches of Eckhart Tolle, he wrote lots of books about this, and he can be found on Youtube for very inspirational speeches.

Fear of the consequences of quitting or telling the boss to go finger him/herself.
Fear of the 'what will happen to me.'
Thats what keeps us all in check mate.
A willing slave to the ego.
Ironically the egos are the consequential residue of past actions and our fear, the repetition of the events, or rather the perception of, that created that fear in the first place.
If we don't have APPROVAL we suffer persecution/isolation etc...
Memory is time.

Greed. Having enough to survive is one thing, another is to want more. So we do not survive, at least not by the laws of real natural selection. Natural selection these days is social selection. You do not need to be liked by everyone, It's not essential to survival, yet you're still in it for the slap on the back. You don't need the gold watch, yet you pursuit it. It's been two years, you may be thinking differently now.

@TRUTHEXPANDING You are right dude, but in this part "Approval junkie" means an individual that seeks for recognizing and attention by other people, that attention will become memories and those will become part of what the Ego makes you believe who you are. So the individual's life is based on, what do I have to do to make people recognize me? That's why we all want people to feel how attractive, great we are, we all want everyone to see us, but more important, the "WE" in this sentence is Ego

@TheZinema I agree with everything you've said. Prior to watching this movie I was an approval junkie. I would talk to friends and work collegues about my past achievements, what I want to do in the future, anything that would make myself appear more special and it was something I did subconsciously. These days I'm much quieter than I was and people don't know why. One day I was like everyone else and now I prefer to listen to other people talk rather than talk myself I don't want to feed my eg

@Sebastian2207 That's the point dude, stopping the hunger of recognization. To get rid of the Ego basically means, stopping to identify with thoughts, you're doing it very good as I read that you controlled your mind to not seek for recognizing, see your Ego as your best friend, not as enemie, but never see it as YOU.
Also, search for some speeches of Eckhart Tolle, he wrote lots of books about this, and he can be found on Youtube for very inspirational speeches.

@TRUTHEXPANDING Both Approval & survival junkies...even if one wins the lottery, they still want to be approved by society, going out wasting their money on fancy clothes, cars, jewellery, etc....And what for? To be accepted by society & to feed the ego...Its approving to the ego. Victory & truth :-)
