I do use food in my right hand...held across my body and directly over the dog's nose. My left hand cups the dog's head and helps to keep the head up, while also keeping the dog in a good close heel position. Be patient...most dogs may try to resist this position at first....the treat will help the dog become willing to stay "in your hand. " You may have to start taking just a few steps at a time. Thanks.

Do you start with a leash? Do you use food?
Even if you did a private one for me I would love. I have given up obedience because I want this type and just can't get it.
